  • Patent number: 8177160
Abstract: A clutch arrangement, especially adapted for use in an aircraft nose wheel landing gear steering arrangement, includes a rotatable drive input, a rotatable output, and an epicyclic gear arrangement, and a carrier upon which the planet gears are mounted, the drive input being connected to the ring gear of the gear arrangement or the carrier, the output being connected to the other of the ring gear or the carrier, and a clutch operable to control relative rotation between the ring gear and the sun gear and to direct the major portion of the torque being transmitted therethrough the first of two transmission paths.

  • Publication number: 20090242692
Abstract: A clutch arrangement comprises a rotatable drive input, a rotatable output, and an epicyclic gear arrangement comprising a ring gear, a series of planet gears meshing with the ring gear, a sun gear meshing with the planet gears, and a carrier upon which the planet gears are mounted, the drive input being connected to one of the ring gear and the carrier, the output being connected to the other of the ring gear and the carrier, and a clutch device operable to control relative rotation between the ring gear and the sun gear. The invention also relates to a nosewheel landing gear steering arrangement including such a clutch arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20060168271
Abstract: An apparatus and method for measurement, analysis, and optimization of content delivery over a communications network is presented. In one embodiment, the apparatus detects data packets en route over a communications network. The detected data packets are read by the apparatus, combined into application messages, and further combined into user centric events. The events are analyzed to identify metrics and statistics relating to the delivery of content over a communications network and the experience of the end user. The metrics and statistics are saved in a data storage area. When the metrics exceed a configurable threshold, the apparatus provides real-time notification of content delivery problems or end user experience problems. Alternatively, the system can take action to proactively prevent anticipated content delivery problems or end user experience problems.

  • Publication number: 20030112187
Abstract: An antenna unit for use in a mobile telecommunications network, which is capable of transmitting and receiving radio signals from the inside of buildings to and from mobile terminals operating in the network. The antenna also prevents the radiation levels within the building from rising above approved safe levels thereby allowing occupiers of the building to continue working in areas adjacent the antenna. Furthermore, the antenna can be located in areas having a large proportion of listed or protected buildings.

  • Patent number: 5689575
Abstract: A real time output containing data relating to states of facial parts is generated. A facial area detection unit (11) has monitoring (51-57) and determining (59-61) processing circuits operating in a pipelining manner to determine position of the facial area. The monitoring circuits (51-57) monitor pixel value frequency using 3D histogram and backprojection processing. The generating facial area signal has masks applied by a unit (12) which supplies data to mouth area and eye area detection units (14,15). Each of these operate on similar principles to the facial area detection unit (11).
