  • Patent number: 10443932
Abstract: A refrigeration system for use in petrochemical plants, such as an ethylene production plant includes a refrigerant vent rectifier. The rectifier purifies the refrigerant by removing low molecular weight inerts. The refrigeration system is more efficient, consumes less energy and increases plant capacity.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 31, 2016
Date of Patent: October 15, 2019
    Assignee: Linde Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Mark Whitney, Mark Ulrich
  • Publication number: 20180050348
Abstract: An apparatus for processing liquid from a quench water tower includes a first pipe for removing the liquid from the quench water tower; a hydrocyclone in fluid communication with the first pipe and in which the liquid is separated into particulate and liquid constituents by centrifugal force; and an oil-water separator downstream of and in fluid communication with a first outlet of the hydrocyclone. A related system and method are also provided.

  • Patent number: 8208516
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to an apparatus and method for encoder initialization and communications. The apparatus may include a database and an encoder module. The database may be configured to receive a plurality of parameters to be used for operation of the encoder module. The database may be further configured to store the plurality of parameters and to provide the plurality of parameters to the encoder module. The encoder module includes an encoder configured to be initialized based on the plurality of parameters from the database. When invoked, the encoder may rely on the database to initialize rather than performing measurements on the current signal that is to be encoded. In one aspect, the apparatus may be an access terminal that can seamlessly switch between different domains, different networks, different base stations, and different access points.

  • Publication number: 20110063126
Abstract: The subject disclosure provides a communications architecture for managing/relaying utility information, such as energy, water or gas information. In one aspect, the system includes a hub having a first communications interface for receiving consumption data of a predetermined energy load and a second communications interface for communicating with a metering device. The second communications interface is configured to transmit the consumption data to the metering device and to receive control signals from the metering device where the consumption data is communicated using a first protocol and wherein the control signals are communicated using a second protocol.
