  • Pressure sensing in masks

    Abstract: A method includes the steps of sensing pressure changes inside a mask of a user; and electronically controlling a function related to the mask or electronically making a determination related to the user on the basis of the sensed pressure changes. The sensor may be a solid state pressure sensor that is inside the mask and not associated with the mask regulator. The function may be microphone control stress level monitoring, mask integrity monitoring, or estimating of remaining tank air, as examples.
