  • Publication number: 20060290696
Abstract: The present invention relates to computer graphics applications involving scene rendering using objects modeled at multiple levels of detail. In accordance with an aspect of the invention, a ray tracer implementation allows users to specify multiple versions of a particular object, categorized by LOD ID's. A scene server selects the version appropriate for the particular scene, based on the size of the object on the screen for example, and provides a smooth transition between multiple versions of an object model. In one example, the scene server will select two LOD representations associated with a given object and assign relative weights to each representation. The LOD weights are specified to indicate how to blend these representations together.

  • Patent number: 7124425
Abstract: A head mounted display in a video/audio system includes a display device, a head mount, noise reduction devices, and a speaker. The display device is coupled to the head mount and produces visual images based on received video signals. The head mount is mounted on the user's head and is coupled to the noise reduction devices, which cover the user's ears such that external noise is reduced. The noise reduction devices are coupled together via a strap that fits around the user head. The noise reduction devices are coupled to and house speakers that produce sound signals based on received audio signals. As a result, the user may see the video images produced by the display device and clearly hear the sounds produced by the speaker, and the external noise heard by the user is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20060078438
Abstract: A compressor assembly includes a compressor coupled to a motor via a belt drive. The belt drive provides a speed reduction between the motor and compressor and causes the compressor shaft to rotate in the direction opposite that of the motor shaft. The relative values of the mass moments of inertia about the axes of rotation of the rotating motor and compressor shafts are engineered to be inversely proportional to the relative shaft speeds, allowing the mass moments of inertia to be balanced to at least substantially eliminate torsional vibration.

Pendent arms R, R?, R? and R?? attached to a ring nitrogen. The pendent arms have the general formula: ?C?HR1R2 and for three or more of the pendant arms a chirality of the carbon atoms C? are identical for each of three or more of the pendant arms. The R1 group is larger than hydrogen and R2 is selected from the group consisting of: an alcohol, amides, a carboxylate, phosphinates and a phosphonate. One or more substituents R6 is a group larger than a methyl group and is located on one or more ring carbons.

  • Publication number: 20060035719
Abstract: The present invention comprises a special golf ball, configured with a human eye and preferably with the color and shape of the golfer's mother. By placing a human eye, similar to that of a relative on the golf ball, the golfer utilizes his or her instinctive human behavior on making eye contact, thus maintaining eye contact with the ball during swinging, the most fundamental aspect of a proper golf swing. By keeping an eye on the ball, the golfer's head stays down and performance dramatically improves.
