  • Patent number: 7791602
Abstract: The present invention relates to computer graphics applications involving scene rendering using objects modeled at multiple levels of detail. In accordance with an aspect of the invention, a ray tracer implementation allows users to specify multiple versions of a particular object, categorized by LOD ID's. A scene server selects the version appropriate for the particular scene, based on the size of the object on the screen for example, and provides a smooth transition between multiple versions of an object model. In one example, the scene server will select two LOD representations associated with a given object and assign relative weights to each representation. The LOD weights are specified to indicate how to blend these representations together.

  • Patent number: 7753975
Abstract: A system for conditioning a gas. The system includes a compressor for compressing and heating the gas into a hot gas; an airflow device generating an airflow; and a heat exchanger receiving in a first flow path the hot gas and in a second flow path the airflow. Heat is transferred from the hot gas to the airflow to generate a cool gas and hot airflow, and moisture condenses within the cool gas. A moisture separator separates condensed moisture from the cool gas to generate a saturated gas. A reheater receives in one flow path the saturated gas from the moisture separator and in another flow path the hot airflow from the heat exchanger. Heat is transferred in the reheater from the hot airflow to the saturated gas to generate a superheated gas having a temperature above the saturation temperature of the gas.

  • Publication number: 20100147472
Abstract: A method of extracting hemp fibers from decorticated hemp bast skin involves pre-treating the decorticated hemp bast skin with an aqueous solution containing di-sodium citrate, tri-sodium citrate or a mixture thereof having a pH of from about 6-13 at temperature of about 90° C. or less; and subsequently treating recovered fiber with a enzyme. Determining the extent of completion of a plant fiber degumming process involves treating degummed fiber with a recombinant pectinase expressed in an organism that produces neither cellulose nor xylanase, to release reducing sugar from any residua pectin on the degummed fiber, and, quantifying the released reducing sugar.
