  • Patent number: 7062235
Abstract: The objective of this invention is to provide a test procedure that enables testing of not only the transceiver but also of the cable connecting the transmitters and receivers to the duplex filter and the duplex filter itself. The invention is based on the idea of utilizing the fact that the frequency response of the filter in the duplex filter transmission branch and that of the filter in the reception branch partially overlap in the stop band. This makes it possible to use the same stop band frequency in test transmission and test reception. On the transmitter, the test signal frequency (fTEST) is adjusted so as to fall in between the system reception band (RX) and the transmission band (TX). The receiver reception frequency is shifted to the same frequency between the reception and transmission frequency bands to which the transmitter has been adjusted.

  • Patent number: 6940263
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an arrangement implementing the method for testing a transmitter part and receiver part in a transceiver. A signal in the transmitter part is mixed with a mixing signal for generating a signal to be connected to the receiver part, which generated signal is connected to the receiver part and the connected signal is compared with the transmitter part signal to test the transceiver. The mixing signal is generated by connecting a signal generated by means of a signal generator used in the operation of the transmitter part and/or receiver part to at least two signal branches, dividing the signal in the signal branches into at least two signals of different frequencies in the different signal branches, and generating a mixing signal from the signals of different frequencies.

  • Patent number: 6829469
Abstract: A method for producing an output signal (42) with a specific frequency from an input signal (40) received, the frequency of which changes quickly in steps of the size of an input frequency resolution or a multiple of the input frequency resolution, on the input frequency band. Furthermore, a method is presented for producing an output signal (72) from an input signal (70) with a specific frequency, and for changing the frequency of the output signal (72) quickly in steps of the size of an output frequency resolution or a multiple of the output frequency resolution, on the output frequency band. Methods, as well as a receiver and a transmitter that implement the methods are based on the setting of an intermediate frequency from an intermediate frequency band, which comprises at least two different values. The difference between the values, i.e. the intermediate frequency resolution, is higher than the input or output frequency resolutions.
