  • Patent number: 11478144
Abstract: A contact arrangement for an eye examining instrument is located between an eye that is examined and a section of the eye examining instrument, the section is directed toward the eye that is examined. The contact arrangement is disposable, biocompatible with skin and made of biodegradable material. A first side of the contact arrangement is set in contact with the skin around the eye that is examined. A second side of the contact arrangement is attached with a counterpart of the eye examining instrument in a tool-free manner without touching with hands to the contact arrangement, the attachment being releasable, at the section, which is directed toward the eye that is examined.

  • Patent number: 10441166
Abstract: An apparatus for non-contact examination of an eye comprises for illuminating and imaging the eye: an apparatus objective of a positive optical power and a positive spherical aberration which illuminates and images an angle wider than a cross section of the zone I of the retinal vasculature, the apparatus objective being common to the imaging and the illumination the optical paths of which are deviated from each other in the examination apparatus; and a secondary lens unit, which is located behind the apparatus objective in the optical path in a direction of the imaging, modifies at least one of the following optical features: lateral color aberration, astigmatism, field curvature and coma caused by the apparatus objective, and focuses the imaging radiation modified by the secondary lens unit on an image sensor for forming an image of a retina of the eye.

  • Patent number: 9033507
Abstract: Light from an exit pupil of an illumination unit is directed to a beam splitter which directs the light to an objective. The retina is illuminated, if a real image of the exit pupil of the illumination unit and a real image of an entrance pupil of a camera unit are formable in a position ranging from the cornea to the backside of the crystalline lens with the light. The objective forms a real intermediate image of the retina between the objective and the camera unit. The beam splitter directs the light from the retina to the camera unit, while causing the path of the illumination and the path of the imaging to deviate for non-overlapping images of the exit pupil and the entrance pupil in the crystalline lens. A relay lens system forms a real image of the intermediate image on a detecting component with the light reflected from the retina for transforming the image into an electric form to be shown on a screen.

  • Publication number: 20120188356
Abstract: A hand-held examination device for imaging the eye (106) comprises a user interface (108), infrared source (150) and visible light source (152). The infrared source (150) illuminates the eye (106) with infrared radiation, the examination device forms an image of the eye (106) while illuminated by infrared radiation, and the display shows the eye (106) illuminated by infrared radiation. The user interface (108) receives from the user a signal for generating an image. The visible light source (152) is switched on in a predefined manner in response to the received user signal for generating the image. The examination device generates at least one image of the eye (106) by using visible light in response to the received user signal for generating the image.
