  • Patent number: 11273816
Abstract: In a method, which can be performed by a control device for carrying out an emergency braking and/or panic braking of a vehicle, in a first phase, a setpoint vehicle deceleration requested instantaneously by a driver is ignored and a motor of an electromechanical brake booster is operated in a predefined high power mode such that a main brake cylinder pressure in the main brake cylinder is increased; in an intermediate phase, the main brake cylinder pressure is reduced to a setpoint pressure by pumping brake fluid from the main brake cylinder into the at least one wheel brake cylinder and the motor force of the motor is reduced to a setpoint force; and the brake pressure increase in the at least one wheel brake cylinder is continued during a second phase only if the driver requests instantaneously a setpoint vehicle deceleration.

  • Patent number: 10814849
Abstract: An electronically pressure-controllable vehicle braking system and a method for controlling an electronically pressure-controllable vehicle braking system are described. Such vehicle braking systems may stabilize a vehicle, assist the actuation of the vehicle braking system, and/or enable a fully automated or semi-automated driving operation. For this purpose, the vehicle braking systems include a primary actuator system which sets or regulates different braking pressures at the wheel brakes and furthermore includes an electronically controllable secondary actuator system which protects the vehicle braking system against, inter alia, failure of the primary actuator system.

  • Patent number: 10604128
Abstract: An electronically slip-controllable vehicle braking system for a motor vehicle, including an actuatable brake master cylinder, to which at least one wheel brake that is associated with one wheel of a front axle of the vehicle, and at least one wheel brake that is associated with one wheel of a rear axle of the motor vehicle, are detachably connected. An electronically controllable first actuator suite of the braking system establishes and regulates mutually differing brake pressures in the wheel brakes as a function of the respectively existing slip conditions. An electronically controllable second actuator suite establishes and regulates a uniform brake pressure at the wheel brakes, and a third actuator suite limits the brake pressure generated by the second actuator suite at the at least one wheel brake associated with the wheel of the rear axle. Electronic control application to the actuator suites is accomplished via an electronic control device.

  • Patent number: 10576953
Abstract: An electronically slip-controllable braking system including an actuatable master brake cylinder, to which at least one wheel brake, associated with a wheel of a front axle and at least one wheel brake, associated with a wheel of a rear axle of a vehicle, are connected. An electronically activatable first actuator system sets and regulates brake pressures different from one another in the wheel brakes as a function of the particular present slip conditions. An electronically activatable second actuator system effectuates the setting and regulating of a uniform brake pressure at the wheel brakes and a third actuator system limits the brake pressure generated by the second actuator system at the wheel brakes associated with the wheels of the rear axle. The third actuator system controls a second pressure medium connection between the associated wheel brake of the rear axle and a pressure medium storage container.

  • Patent number: 10286884
Abstract: A vehicle brake system having electronic pressure regulation and a related method, in which the system stabilizes a vehicle, supports the actuation of the brake system, and/or enables a fully/partly automated driving operation. The system has a primary actuator system that sets/regulates different brake pressures at the wheel brakes, and an electronically controllable secondary actuator system that secures the vehicle brake system against primary actuator failure. For a primary actuator error, the secondary actuator is controlled so that the secondary system produces a brake pressure that, based on the dynamic axle load displacement, occurring during a braking process, in the direction of a front axle, is greater than the brake pressure that is convertable into a rear axle wheel brake braking power. A device reduces this brake pressure at the rear axle wheel brake to a value at which the vehicle wheel, assigned to this wheel brake, does not lock.

  • Patent number: 10099670
Abstract: A vehicle braking system includes a brake pedal, a master cylinder, and an electronically-controlled booster having an input member and an output member adapted to provide an input force to the master cylinder that combines a driver-supplied input force and a boost force provided by the electronically-controlled booster. A wheel cylinder is fluidly coupled to an outlet of the master cylinder and operable to provide a wheel braking force proportional to the input force to the master cylinder. A pump is operable to pump fluid toward the wheel cylinder to provide an assisting wheel braking force. A controller is programmed to trigger a hydraulic braking assist routine in which the pump is activated to provide the assisting wheel braking force. The controller is programmed to reduce the boost force provided by the electronically-controlled booster during the hydraulic braking assist routine.
