  • Patent number: 7247131
Abstract: The invention relates to a folding machine for the graphics industry. The machine has a folder, at least one pair of blade shafts following the folder, and a separate roll frame that supports the pair of blade shafts. In order to be able to perform changeover operations on the pair of blade shafts as ergonomically as possible without partial dismantling of the folding machine, the folding machine is equipped with a guide for the roll frame and with an actuating device (e.g., tooth rack, pinion, crank) for displacing the roll frame along the guide.

    Assignee: Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG
    Inventors: Markus Belmann, Jürgen Kübler
  • Patent number: 7207161
Abstract: An apparatus for forming stacks of flat workpieces and for banding or banderoling the stacks includes a stacking station, a banding or banderoling station, and an endless conveyor for cyclically conveying stacking shafts provided to the endless conveyor. A respective first band guide is formed on a respective one of the stacking shafts and a second band guide is disposed in the banding station. The second band guide together with the respective first band guide form an at least approximately intrinsically closed guide path.

    Inventors: Markus Belmann, Udo Ganter
  • Patent number: 7028597
Abstract: In a perforating apparatus which has a holder to which a perforating blade can be fastened, the perforation is produced via the movement of a piston by the piston pressing against an air cushion, which in turn transmits this pressure to a perforating piston which presses the perforating blade downward. A positioning device which directly varies the position of the piston unit relative to the housing surface is provided for the zero setting of the piston.

  • Publication number: 20050209079
Abstract: A blower for a folder pocket has at least one blower nozzle. The at least one blown air nozzle is configured in such a way that it can be used to produce an air stream which runs substantially in the run-in direction of the folder pocket. Furthermore, a method for assisting sheets running into a folder pocket uses the blown air apparatus at an inlet to a folder pocket for producing an air stream substantially parallel to an incoming direction of the sheets into the folder pocket.

  • Publication number: 20050090932
Abstract: An apparatus for processing preliminary products in the graphics industry with the preliminary products at a standstill in a processing position, includes a conveyor by which the preliminary products can be transported in a transporting direction, along a transporting section, into the processing position, a drive that operates the conveyor, a detector that detects a respective preliminary product en route along the transporting section, and a controller that is linked up with the detector and the drive and by which the drive can be brought to a temporary standstill when the respective preliminary product reaches the processing position. On account of stops not being present, the preliminary products remain intact at least along their leading edges, as seen in the transporting direction, there are no marks on these edges, and the set-up times during a changeover of the format of the preliminary products are relatively short.

  • Publication number: 20010044367
Abstract: In order to adjust a folding length of a folded sheet running into a folder pocket, a pocket stop extending within the folder pocket, transversely with respect to a sheet running direction, is adjusted by a motor. In order to ensure the exact motorized adjustment of both sides of the pocket stop, the adjustment is carried out with the aid of two threaded spindles. In this case, the threaded spindles are coupled to each other in such a way that a coordinated movement between them is made possible.
