  • Patent number: 7802491
Abstract: A device for dampening torsional vibrations, comprising a centering sleeve (1) for the reception of a rotatable element and a flywheel mass (2) is characterized in that, with regard to the objective to be solved, namely the realization of an arrangement having a constructively simple design and a highly dynamic stability, the centering sleeve (1) and the flywheel mass (2) are connected to each other. Furthermore, an arrangement comprising the mentioned device and a flexible coupling (5) is claimed.

  • Publication number: 20070219002
Abstract: A flexible coupling for torque-transmitting connection of two elements comprising a supporting body to which are assigned pick-up fixtures which are movably disposed relative to one another, to each pick-up fixture there is assigned at least one elastically deformable layer. Each pick-up fixture surrounds one at least partly spherically shaped elastic layer and a cylindrically shaped elastic layer, and wherein the layers cooperate during the relative movement of the pick-up fixtures. Such a flexible coupling finds use in an assembly.

  • Publication number: 20050168046
Abstract: A vibration dampening system for a seat in a vehicle includes a seat adapted to be coupled to the vehicle. A component is coupled to the seat and has a primary function related to use of the seat. The component is decoupled from the seat in at least one direction such that the component is able to move relative to the seat, thereby having a second function related to dampening vibration in the seat.

  • Publication number: 20030222386
Abstract: A spring seat isolator/damper is employed with a coil spring having flexible modes corresponding to frequencies of loading causing significantly higher dynamic stiffness amplitudes for the spring. The spring seat isolator/damper has an elastomeric member with a spring seat isolator portion and a mass damper portion, and with the spring seat isolator portion adapted to mount to and receive loads from a vehicle suspension. A damper mass operatively engages the mass damper portion of the elastomeric member such that the damper mass and the damper portion of the elastomeric member have a natural frequency that is substantially equal to at least one of the plurality of flexible modes of the coil spring. This damper, then, will substantially reduce the dynamic stiffness of the spring for that flexible mode.

  • Patent number: 6435540
Abstract: A gas inflator is movably supported in a spacer pot and/or in a protective sleeve of an airbag housing, and functions as a vibration damper weight. An annular spring element made of polymer material that is impermeable to gas is joined to the gas inflator's outer wall and to a supporting plate. A vacant vibration space is formed for the vibration damper weight between the gas inflator and the interior wall of the spacer pot or protective sleeve. The spring element is provided with a plurality of elastic projections that are distributed on the exterior periphery of the spring element. The projections cause a defined deceleration of the vibration weight in response to the traversing of the vacant vibration space.
