Abstract: In order to produce final printed products (14) in the same compartment (12), a first product for insertion (22) is inserted into a first folded printed product (10), and a second product for insertion (28) is inserted into a second folded printed product (24). The printed products (10, 24) are displaced in the direction of the folds (16), and as a result each of the printed products (10, 24) has an edge section (26) projecting beyond the other printed product. This permits fault-free, simple access to each of the printed products (10, 24) in order to open and insert the products for insertion (22, 28).

Abstract: Holding elements (1) equipped for transporting individual articles (2) in a held manner and being movable along a stretch of rail (5) independently of one another at least to a limited extent and having in pushed operation a regular minimum distance between one another, are banked-up during transportation at a banking-up point by a banking-up device (16) to form an accumulation store (12) upstream of the banking-up point. The holding elements are released in groups from the accumulation store (12) in a controlled manner and are conveyed away from the accumulation store. The holding elements (1) in the groups (15) advantageously are spaced the minimum distance from one another. For pre-forming the groups to be released (12) there is a further banking-up device (16) provided in the accumulation store (12). The further banking-up device acts at a further banking-up point upstream of the first banking-up point.

Abstract: A process for combining a plurality of completed printed products such as completed newspapers and/or periodicals, into bundles. At least two storage arrangements are provided, which are occupied by completed printed products of different types. The products are retrieved individually from the storage arrangements in a sequence which is necessary for forming bundles which are composed of a particular distribution of the products. The retrieved products are fed to a receiving conveyor, with certain products being positioned upstream of, or between, products which have already been fed to the receiving conveyor, and the products which follow one after the other in the region of the receiving conveyor are combined into the bundles.

Abstract: The deviating device (26, 26′) for feeding transport items (12) occurring on the first rail track (14) to the second or third rail track (16, 18), which is arranged at an angle (&agr;, &agr;′) with respect to the first rail track (14), are arranged lying radially on the inside with respect to the bend of the transitional region between the first rail track (14) and the second or third rail track (16, 18). They have a conveying disk (28), driven continuously in rotation, and a coupling means (56), designed as a lamellar wheel (42). The lamellae (42′) of the lamellar wheel (42) can be transferred in a controlled manner into a clamping position, in order to firmly clamp a transport item (12) between them and the conveying disk (28) and lead it through the deviating region.
