  • Patent number: 8412921
Abstract: A control device for a vehicle and a method for a data update for a control device for a vehicle are provided, in which a first memory is provided that has a first area in which a bootloader is provided and that has a second area in which at least one application program is provided. Furthermore, a second memory is provided, in which first data for the at least one application program are provided. Furthermore, an interface is provided that provides second data for an update at least of one part of the first data. In addition, a control circuit is provided that calls up the bootloader for the update of the at least one part of the first data by the second data. The bootloader extracts from the second area of the first memory third data that indicate the third area of the second memory in which the second data for the update are to be written.

  • Patent number: 8103933
Abstract: A method and system to ensure the integrity of data in a data-processing device, a data packet is read from a memory and checked to determine whether the data packet is an existing code word of a predefined first code, and if the data packet is an existing code word, the data packet is accepted as intact, and if the data packet is not an existing code word, at least one data block of an error-correcting second code that overlaps with the read data packet is ascertained, and an error is searched for in the data packet using the second code, and the data packet is corrected on the basis of the result of the search, and the corrected data packet is accepted as intact.

  • Patent number: 7962264
Abstract: A method for adapting a monitoring device of a control unit for a restraint system of a motor vehicle, having a redundant detection device and a triggering unit, having the method steps of: providing a first definable threshold value as a timing pattern for the monitoring device in a first operating range of the motor vehicle; detecting at least a second operating range of the motor vehicle by way of the redundant detection device at a first point in time; and transferring data from the redundant detection device to the monitoring device in order to adapt the monitoring device by utilizing at least one second definable threshold value in the second operating range of the motor vehicle, and an apparatus therefor.

  • Publication number: 20110130920
Abstract: A method for error handling for a control device for a passenger protection system and a corresponding control device are provided, the error handling being implemented by switching off at least one function of the control device as a function of an error detection. The switching off takes place immediately after the error detection, the error qualification taking place after the switching off.

  • Patent number: 7603206
Abstract: A system and a method for controlling or regulating the operational sequences in a vehicle using a number of control units, which are each connected to a communications bus. A central data management unit, on its part, is connected to the communications bus and is designed in such a way that it makes available to the control units, respectively, specific data from a permanent memory. This makes it possible to save having permanent memories in the individual controllers for supplying configuration data of the control units, whereby operating security is increased and expenditure is decreased.

  • Publication number: 20060126901
Abstract: An apparatus for determining physiological data is provided for determining age of a vehicle passenger in the context of safety apparatus deployment. For picking up the physiological data, a sensor is used. In particular, the apparatus is configured for measuring the pupil size, which is a good parameter for distinguishing age. This parameter may be correlated with further measured values, in order to put the age determination on a reliable basis.
