  • Patent number: 7427071
Abstract: A divided driver device (5) for a mechanical face seal for non-rotatable assembly on a rotary component and for the transmission of a torque to a seal ring (2) held in non-rotatable manner on the driver device. The driver device (5) is divided in at least a single radial plane so as to form sections in the form of segments of a circle that are adapted to be clamped together to form a ring shape and furthermore, it is axially sub-divided into a divided retaining ring (14) for retaining the seal ring (2) and a divided mounting ring (16) for non-rotatable mounting to the rotary component. The rings (14, 16) are coupled together for rotation in common, as indicted by (24).

  • Publication number: 20060097456
Abstract: The invention relates to a divided driver device (5) for a slip ring seal to be mounted in a rotationally fixed manner on a rotating part and serving to transfer a rotatory force to a slip ring (2) that is held in a rotationally fixed manner on the driver device. The driver device (5) is divided in at least one radial plane while forming circle segment-shaped sections that can be joined to one another to form a circular shape, and is also axially subdivided into a divided retaining ring (14) for the slip ring (2) and into a divided mounting ring (16) for mounting in a rotationally fixed manner on the rotating part. The rings (14, 16) are intercoupled as indicated by (24) so that they rotate together. The retaining ring (14) has circle segment-shaped sections (141, 142), which are sealed from one another, can be joined to from an annular shape having a radial inner dimension that is greater than the radial outer nominal dimension of the relevant rotating part (6).
