  • Patent number: 9600759
Abstract: A machine tool comprises a first component, for example a dressing spindle (3), and at least one second component, for example a dressing wheel (1), which is removably and/or movably arranged on the first component. The first component has a first antenna coil for a wireless signal transmission, and the second component has a second antenna coil. The two components together delimit a cavity which is completely surrounded by metal. The first antenna coil and the second antenna coil are arranged together in the cavity. This forms a metal-protected radio link (26.1) between the first antenna coil and the second antenna coil, which radio link is protected from harmful external influences.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 11, 2014
Date of Patent: March 21, 2017
    Assignee: REISHAUER AG
Inventors: Erich Ronneberger, Markus Gretler, Roland Küng, Daniel Früh

  • Patent number: 7641537
Abstract: A rotating cutting tool (2, 14, 16) for machining a workpiece on a machine tool, in particular for dressing the grinding worm of a tooth flank grinding machine, having an electronic data carrier for storing data relevant to the use of the tool, has an annular data carrier (7) arranged concentrically to the rotation axis of the tool and having an above-average storage capacity, and said data carrier (7), during the machining process, with the tool (2, 14, 16) rotating, exchanges tool-relevant data, at a high transmission rate, with a likewise annular write/read head (10) arranged concentrically thereto on the machine.
    Type: Grant

    Inventors: Wolfgang Thyssen, Markus Gretler
  • Patent number: 7452261
Abstract: A process for monitoring the correct setting of the coolant nozzle (9) of a grinding machine for grinding the tooth flanks of workpieces with premachined teeth. In an automatic test cycle after setting the machine, with the grinding wheel (2) at defined positions relative to the workpiece (3), the alterations in power consumption of the grinding spindle drive when switching on the coolant supply are measured, compared with the desired value ranges specified in the machine control system, and the machining process blocked in the event of measurements being below or above the desired value ranges. In this manner the production of scrap and the occurrence of deflagration of the coolant/lubricant-air mixture in the machine working area, and hence a machine fire, can be effectively prevented.
