  • Patent number: 8139204
Abstract: A distance-measuring optoelectronic sensor for the monitoring of a working zone is provided which is located within a detection zone of the sensor and at a first distance from the sensor, wherein the sensor has a lighting unit having a light source to illuminate the working zone at least partly as well as an object detection unit by means of which unauthorized objects in the working zone can be detected. In this respect, an illumination control is designed, in a switching-on phase, first to activate the lighting unit with a lower power so that a provisional working zone at a second distance from the sensor less than the first distance is illuminated with at most a preset maximum power; to check by means of the object detection unit whether an unauthorized object intrusion is taking place into the provisional working zone; and if no unauthorized object intrusion is recognized, to activate the lighting unit at a higher power so that the working zone is illuminated with at most the preset maximum power.

  • Patent number: 7613224
Abstract: In a method for qualification of the transmission quality of a frequency channel in a wire-free communication system that has two or more frequency channels, units in the system communicate via the frequency channels. Data is transmitted in time slots in a time pattern using a time slot method. The influence of possible interference sources is determined in a measurement time slot in which no data is received, in that the field strength is measured at the frequencies of two or more frequency channels, and the field strength information is used for qualification decisions relating to the frequency channels.

  • Patent number: 7545885
Abstract: The present invention relates to a receiving apparatus for a mobile communications system which can be modulated using different modulation types at the transmitter end. According to one embodiment of the invention, in the middle of a data burst of a Bluetooth communications system, a GFSK modulation method is switched to an M-DPSK modulation method, which is used for the payload data. A frequency offset estimation unit is provided for GFSK-modulated signals in a first receiving section and estimates the frequency offset by averaging over a bit sequence of a trailer of a data burst. The frequency offset is corrected in a second receiving section, by means of a frequency correction unit which operates on the basis of the CORDIC algorithm.

  • Patent number: 7529288
Abstract: In a method for qualification of a frequency channel in a wire-free communication system, data is transmitted on different frequency channels by means of an adaptive frequency hopping method. The transmission and reception are carried out in time slots using a time slot method which is based on the radio standard. In order to qualify the transmission quality of the frequency channels, data packet error rates and/or bit error rates and the field strength of the received data signal are measured, and the measured field strength is compared with a threshold value field strength in order to make a selection decision.
