Abstract: A water purification apparatus capable of being cleaned at a point of care and methods for cleaning the water purification apparatus at the point of care are disclosed herein. The water purification apparatus and the methods provide an efficient use of a heater for heat disinfection the water purification apparatus. The water purification apparatus and the methods provide heat disinfection by recirculating heated fluid to further heat the fluid. Several different cleaning programs are provided that may be utilized for cleaning different parts of the water purification apparatus.

Abstract: In a method for controlling the emptying cycle for a temporary storage space (5) at a deposit point (2, 3) of a pneumatic material collection and transport system where emptying of the storage space is performed by opening a discharge valve (10) provided downstream thereof, a storage space emptying state is detected during discharge valve open condition, the output from at least one storage space emptying state sensor (6, 7) is monitored and logged, the sensor output is evaluated, a discharge valve open time is computed based on monitored and evaluated sensor output and the discharge valve is closed when monitored and evaluated sensor output has indicated a storage space empty condition.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method for purifying a gelatin solution obtained in a continuous process from raw material consisting of fresh defatted bone material from pig, cattle, sheep or chicken, which method comprises the steps of grinding the raw material, optionally with addition of water, mixing the ground raw material with more water to form a slurry, subjecting the slurry, in optional order, to an adjustment of the pH to 2.4-3.9 and to an adjustment of the temperature to 90-125° C. and maintaining these conditions for a time of 90 s to 1020 s. The slurry is then separated into a liquid phase and a solid phase, the pH is adjusted to 6.0-7.0, floccules formed are separated and the solution is clarified by filtration. This invention further relates to a gelatin obtained according to this method.
