Abstract: The invention relates to a method of distributing real time data streams across a multimedia network to receiving terminals, wherein a selected real time data streams is transmitted from a media server to a specific receiving terminals, wherein a mediation device is located between said media server and the receiving terminals, that a bi-directional communication with said media server is terminated at said media server for receiving data streams destined for the selected terminal and that said data streams are further forwarded to said selected terminal by means of a uni-directional communication protocol, and also a mediation device and a multimedia network therefore.

Abstract: A method for generating an emergency call as well as an emergency sensing device and a mobile phone for executing this method. An emergency event is triggered on the emergency sensing device. When detecting the emergency event, the emergency sensing device activates a transmitter and transmits an emergency signal via a wireless communication interface to the mobile phone. The mobile phone establishes an emergency call to a predefined destination, when receiving via the wireless communication interface such emergency signal from the emergency sensing device.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for authenticating a user to a network by means of a temporary and/or one-time password. The temporary and/or one-time password is provided by a service provider that can be accessed by means of a mobile telecommunication device. The temporary password is provided on demand, when the user invokes a corresponding access request that is transmitted to the service provider by means of the mobile telecommunication device. The service provider checks and asserts a received access request and generates the temporary password by making use of a dedicated cryptographic method. The generated temporary password is finally transmitted to the personal mobile device of the user that is adapted to transmit the received temporary password to a gateway of a network in order to authenticate the user to the network. Moreover, the mobile telecommunication device provides establishing of an IP-based connection between a user's computing device and the network.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for delivering multimedia data streams to subscribers of a data distribution network in which a first number of data streams of different programs are fed into a head end and thence to different lower-level distribution points, in which these data streams are converted for transmission by an analog frequency-division multiplexing technique to a number of home terminations. Each of the terminals connected to the home termination can select one or more programs by selection of a frequency channel, and output this program or these programs to a user. In addition to the first number of data streams, the lower-level distribution points each receive a second number of data streams, and they retransmit data streams of this second number of data streams, together with data streams of the first number of data streams, as analog signals over given frequency channels to the respective home terminations connected thereto.
