  • Patent number: 11951929
Abstract: An occupant protection system for a vehicle may include an expandable curtain and/or an expandable bladder configured to be expanded from a stowed state to a deployed state. In the deployed state, the expandable curtain may include first and second sides configured to extend along respective portions of first and second interior sides of the vehicle. The expandable curtain may also include a transverse portion extending between the first and second sides, and the first and second sides, and the transverse portion of the expandable curtain may form a contiguous barrier. The expandable bladder when deployed may be supported by the expandable curtain during contact by an occupant. The occupant protection system may also include a deployment control system configured to cause the expandable curtain and/or the expandable bladder to expand to the deployed state. The occupant protection system may be used in vehicles having a carriage-style seating arrangement.

  • Patent number: 11920103
Abstract: A method for producing a lubricant in producing an overbased calcium sulfonate, which is converted from the vaterite form into the calcite form and, finally, a calcium sulfonate grease is produced by heating the mixture. A lubricant may comprise at least one ester composition, calcium carbonate and at least one overbased alkylbenzene sulfonate. The basicity of the mixture is limited during the preparation of the overbased calcium sulfonate to a TBN of at most 550 mg KOH/g and during the conversion of the calcium sulfonate to a TBN of at most 450 mg KOH/g. Both the calcium sulfonate and the grease containing said calcium sulfonate may be produced exclusively on an ester basis, so that the end product does not contain any mineral oil and is therefore easily and completely biodegradable.

  • Patent number: 6602717
Abstract: Apparatus for eliminating halide ions such as chloride ions from aqueous solutions having a hollow cylindrical sample holding chamber (2), the front end of which has an orifice (3) and in the vicinity of which is disposed a filter plate (4) that extends over the cross section of the sample holding chamber (2) and is liquid-permeable and essentially impermeable for solids and is inserted in a fixed manner into the hollow cylinder; a plunger (6) which can move to and fro in the sample holding chamber (2) and has a plunger stem (7) attached thereto engages in the open rear end (5) of the sample holding chamber, and, in the sample holding chamber (2) between the filter plate (4) and the plunger (6) is disposed a freely movable bed (7) of an adsorbent reacting with halide ions and forming a sparingly soluble compound, which bed fills a part of the sample holding chamber (2). The adsorbent is preferably charged with silver nitrate as compound reactive with halide ions.
