  • Publication number: 20040256032
Abstract: Contact strips are obtained by segmenting a secondary strip of contacts fabricated from a metal ribbon in which openings are formed with an original regular pitch to form a discontinuous central strip of blades. Each blade is twisted to produce a primary contact strip. The method further includes pleating the primary strip and a hardening heat treatment, and begins with the following operations: the ribbon is metal-plated on both sides to cover at least the central strip with a layer of a metal that is a good electrical conductor, openings are formed in the ribbon, and each blade is twisted. It then includes the following successive operations: the primary strip is pleated, the hardening heat treatment is then applied to produce the secondary contact strip, and the secondary strip is segmented into a plurality of contact strips.

  • Patent number: 6783406
Abstract: The method consists in using a strip of a plastically deformable material which is capable of acquiring elastic spring properties after treatment. The central portion of the strip is coated in a layer of electrically conductive material and then the strip is punched so as to obtain springs which are interconnected at their ends by two continuous side strips. Thereafter, the springs are displaced from the plane of the strip being twisted about their respective longitudinal axes, and one edge of each spring is folded down as a hem in the direction which ensures that the layer of conductive material remains on the outside of the fold. Thereafter, the strip is subjected to hardening treatment to confer elastic properties thereto.

  • Patent number: 6435922
Abstract: A cylindrical coaxial electrical connector comprising a male portion and a female portion, the connector being of the type that includes an intermediate strip of contact springs of elastic material, the springs being united at their ends by two continuous side strips and each having a succession of tongues extending the side strip outwards, said intermediate strip being placed in an annular housing in one or other of the two portions, said housing having two side flanks with walls that are perpendicular to the axis of the connector, wherein each elastic tongue has a first face bent towards the bottom of the housing and then bent in the opposite direction to form an end face rising up towards the outside of the housing, the end of said face bearing against the side flank of said annular housing.
