  • Publication number: 20090012680
Abstract: A method for optimizing the operating mode of a hydrodynamic component integrated into a drive train of a vehicle, using a regulating or control device associated with the component. A set characteristic curve or a set characteristic diagram is stored in a memory unit for a hydrodynamic component; an actual value of at least one variable at least indirectly characterizing an operating point is determined for each transmission process; and the actual value is compared with the set value from the set characteristic diagram. If the actual value deviates from the set value, the manipulated variable for the operating point in question is modified and stored as a new set manipulated variable for said operating point.

  • Publication number: 20080209901
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydrodynamic coupling comprising an impeller (1), which propels a drive machine and a turbine wheel (2), which propels a drive machine. The turbine wheel and its rotationally fixed coupling shell (4) form a coupling housing (5). A centrifugal force valve (6) comprising a valve body (6.1) that is actuated using centrifugal force, is located in the outer peripheral region of the coupling housing, said valve being mounted in an outlet (7) for working medium from the working chamber, in such a way that the valve body essentially or completely seals the outlet releases said outlet when the valve is open, allowing the working medium to flow out. The valve body of the centrifugal force valve is supplied with working medium exclusively on its radial inner face and its radial outer face is subjected exclusively to the action of an elastic, mechanical pressure element (6.2), which acts in the closing direction of the centrifugal force valve.

  • Publication number: 20080206070
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for control of a pressurised air supply system for a motor vehicle (10), said system comprising a drive motor (1) for driving the motor vehicle, which drives an air compressor (3) by means of a drive connection (2), or said drive connection for driving the air compressor may be switched on. Said method comprises the following method steps: in a supply condition, the air compressor is driven by the drive motor and connected with the air supply side (3.

  • Publication number: 20080159880
Abstract: A method for matching an actual characteristic curve or diagram that characterizes the operating mode of a hydrodynamic component to a set characteristic curve or diagram is provided. The method includes a set characteristic curve or diagram of the hydrodynamic component is stored in a writable/readable memory storage unit, a set manipulated variable being assigned to each operating point; the current actual characteristic curve is determined from the operating parameters that characterize the individual operating states and, for each operating point, is compared with the given set characteristic curve or diagram, a correction of the set manipulated variable being carried out for the respective operating point in the event of a deviation beyond a preset range of tolerances; and, in the event a deviation does not occur, the current set value is set as the new set value and read into the memory storage unit as a set manipulated variable.

  • Publication number: 20080017465
Abstract: The invention concerns a hydrodynamic clutch with a pump wheel; with a turbine wheel; the pump wheel and the turbine wheel combine to form a work chamber which can be filled with work medium for the transfer of torque from the pump wheel onto the turbine wheel; with a case which features one or several vent openings for the drainage of work medium from the work chamber and the case (3). The hydrodynamic clutch, according to the invention, is characterized by the following features: a collection bath is provided underneath the case for the collection of work medium being discharged from the vent openings and in which the case is immersed, whereby there is designed to be in the collection bath at least one drainage opening with a drainage flange which is positioned above the floor of the collection bath with a predetermined clearance distance from the bottom and the case is immersed so far in the collection bath that it reaches into an area underneath the drainage flange.

  • Publication number: 20070012037
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydrodynamic coupling having a primary blade wheel and a secondary blade wheel. The primary wheel and the secondary wheel together form a working chamber that can be filled with a working medium and are mounted in such a way that they can rotate in relation to each other. A bearing is inserted, at least indirectly, between the primary impeller and the secondary impeller, said bearing absorbing the radial forces and/or axial forces acting between the blade wheels. The inventive hydrodynamic coupling is characterized in that the bearing is constructed as a sliding bearing, a film of bearing fluid subjected to hydrostatic pressure being formed between the bearing components moving in relation to each other during the operation of the hydrodynamic coupling, and the pressure of the bearing fluid is dependent on the pressure of the working medium built up in the working chamber.
