    Abstract: An apparatus for measuring a plate-shaped workpiece comprises a conveying device for conveying the plate-shaped workpiece in a conveying direction along a conveying path and first and second measuring devices including respective first and second drivers and respective first and second measuring rulers. Each of the first and second drivers is selectively couplable to and decouplable from a main surface of the plate-shaped workpiece. In a coupled state, the drivers are moveable together with the plate-shaped workpiece in the conveying direction and, in a decoupled state, are actively movable in a direction opposite to the conveying direction. The measuring rulers extend in the conveying direction such that the positions and/or movement distances of the drivers in the conveying direction are detectable. The first and second measuring rulers detect different regions of the conveying path of the plate-shaped workpiece in the conveying direction.

    Abstract: Disclosed are a method and device for sealing insulated glass blanks, wherein the insulated glass blank is moved substantially continuously through a sealing station. When sections of the edge joint of the insulated glass blank that are oriented transverse or oblique to the conveying direction are filled with sealing mass exiting from a filling nozzle, the filling nozzle is likewise moved in the conveying direction. When sealing mass is introduced from the filling nozzle into sections of the insulated glass blank that are parallel to the conveying direction, the filling nozzle is not moved in the conveying direction or is moved in the conveying direction at a velocity V2 deviating from the velocity V1 at which the insulated glass blank is moved.

    Abstract: A method for sealing insulating glass blanks (1), in which a sealing compound (3) is introduced from a sealing nozzle (7) into the outwardly open edge joint (2) of the insulating glass blank (1). A material tongue (15) of the sealing compound (3) emerging from the sealing nozzle (7) forms in front of the sealing nozzle (7). The size of the material tongue (15) is proportional to the amount of the sealing compound (3) introduced into the edge joint (2) per unit of time. Sealing is controlled in accordance with the length of the material tongue (15) detected by a sensor (10). In particular the amount of sealing compound (3) introduced per unit of time to the sealing nozzle (7) and/or the relative speed between the insulating glass blank (1) and the sealing nozzle (7) is controlled in accordance with the length of the material tongue (15) detected by the sensor (10).
