  • Patent number: 10523548
Abstract: A circuit including: a trace source configured to request a time stamp to correspond to a trace message; a time module configured to generate the time stamp and buffer the time stamp; and an attachment circuit configured to match the time stamp that corresponds to the trace message and attach the time stamp to the trace message. A method for attaching a time stamp to a trace message, the method including: requesting by a trace source a time stamp to correspond to a trace message; generating the time stamp in a time module; buffering the time stamp in the time module; matching the time stamp that corresponds to the trace message; and attaching the time stamp to the trace message.

  • Publication number: 20180004526
Abstract: A processor includes a front end to receive instructions, a decoder to decode instructions, a core to execute instructions, and a retirement unit to retire instructions. The core includes circuitry to determine, during execution of an instruction, whether the value of a register input to an address generation operation for a memory access performed by the instruction is predictable in a subsequent instruction simulation, to output the value of the register to a trace if it is not predictable, and to refrain from outputting the value of the register to the trace if it is predictable. The target of the instruction may be a destination register. The core also includes circuitry to write a value to a prediction state indicator for the destination register indicating that the value of the destination register is unpredictable, in response to determining that at least one source operand of the instruction is unpredictable.

  • Patent number: 8924796
Abstract: A system includes an integrated circuit having a first component and a first unit. The first component is configured to generate a first trace information. The first unit is implemented in hardware and configured to generate a first time information based on a time of the generation of the first trace information and configured to generate a first data sequence including the first trace information and the first time information.

  • Patent number: 8332676
Abstract: Methods of preparing a power saving state, a Universal Serial Bus (USB) device and a USB host are provided. A method of preparing a power saving state comprises sending a request from a USB device to a USB host, the USB host being connected to the USB device via a USB and the request requesting that the USB host shall stop any bus traffic on the USB. Another method of preparing a power saving state comprises receiving, at a USB host, a request from a USB device, the USB device being connected to the USB host via a USB and the request requesting that the USB host shall stop any bus traffic on the USB. A USB device and a USB host are configured to carry out the respective methods.
