  • Publication number: 20040110864
Abstract: The invention relates to a composition which is self-adhesive to the hard tooth tissue, comprising: (A) 5 to 75 percent by weight of one or more mono or higher functional ethylenically unsaturated compounds which additionally have an acid functional group, wherein one of said compounds has a P—OH group, for instance a phosphoric, phosphonic or phosphinic acid group; (B) 2 to 50 percent by weight of one or more mono or higher functional ethylenically unsaturated compounds without any acid functional group; (C) 22.8 to 85 percent by weight of filling material(s), comprising at least one filling material that may react with component (A) in the sense of causing a ion exchange, neutralization, salt formation and/or chelate formation reaction; (D) 0.1 to 8 percent by weight of one or more initiators and optionally activators; (E) 0.1 to 20 percent by weight of further additives, for example, modifiers, wherein the weight ration in % of component (A) relative to component (B) ranges from 21 to 90:10 to 79.

  • Publication number: 20040079258
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of ions of weakly basic oxides as linking ions for polyacids in cements, preferably polyelectrolyte cements. Suitable ions comprise elements of the scandium series, for example, Sc3+, Y3+, La3+, Ce4+ and all subsequent tri- and tetra-valent lanthanides and the ions Mg2+, Zn2+, Ga2+, In2+. The application of said ions permits a regulation of the cement reaction without surface treatment of the glass powder.

  • Patent number: 6403671
Abstract: The invention relates to a polymerizable, cross-linkable composition which contains: (A) 1-99.99 wt.-% of at least one conversion product of OH-functional (meth)acrylates with (i) oligomers from unsaturated rings or heterocyclic rings and maleic anhydride and/or with (ii) at least one ring-shaped polycarboxylic acid with at least 4 ring-carbon atoms and/or the anhydrides thereof with a saturated ring system, at least 4 carboxyl groups, and 0 or 1 heterocyclic ring atoms from the group N, O, S, whereby at least one carboxyl group and/or anhydride group of the above described substance groups is reacted with unsaturated polymerizable groups; (B) 0 to 98.99 wt.-% of one or more polymerizable, unsaturated organic compounds with at least one CH2═C(R10)—COO-group, whereby R10 represents H or methyl; (C) 0.01 to 5 wt.-% initiators and optional activators; (D) 0 to 90 wt.-% common solvents; (E) 10 to 90 wt.

  • Patent number: 6383279
Abstract: A dental impression composition comprises a polyether derivative functionalized via the hydroxyl groups of a polyether polyol with groups such as aziridine, epoxide and unsaturated substituents including (meth)acrylic, allyl, vinyl, vinyl ether or maleate groups, wherein the level of cyclic oligomeric polyethers is less than 5.0 weight percent.
