    Abstract: A suction device has a suction pipe for aspirating fumes containing metal particles, in particular welding fumes, which aims to allow safe control of the fumes with a minimum of equipment expense and operational expense. For this purpose, an oxidation apparatus is provided according to the present invention. The particles flowing past the oxidation apparatus during operation are heated by way of a power supply and are thus oxidized.
