  • Patent number: 11254432
Abstract: A storage compartment for the overhead region of a passenger cabin of a passenger aircraft has a carrier which can be mounted in the passenger aircraft, and a pivoting part for receiving a storage item. The pivoting part is mounted on the carrier so as to be pivotable about a pivot axis in a pivoting region between an open position and a closing position. The storage compartment further contains a closing force module. The closing force module contains a switching module by which the closing force module can be brought into an active state or into a passive state. In the active state, a greater closing moment is brought about in the direction of the closing position on the pivoting part by the closing force module, at least in a partial region of the pivoting region, than in the passive state. The closing force module is configured free from electricity with respect to the generation of the closing moment and/or with respect to the switching over between the active state and passive state.

  • Patent number: 9079667
Abstract: A fastening device for connecting two overhead storage compartment elements of an aircraft is provided. The overhead storage compartment elements have coupling elements on the sides of the overhead storage compartment elements to be connected. The coupling elements need to be aligned with one another without being subjected to loading. A connecting plate is arranged on a first fastening element, in a longitudinally movable manner. In the delivered state of the overhead storage compartment elements, the connecting plate is already connected to the fastening element and pushed beneath the lower face of the overhead storage compartment element, so that it does not protrude and does not interfere when the bulky overhead storage compartment element is handled before attaching to the cabin ceiling.

  • Patent number: 8833698
Abstract: An overhead luggage compartment for a vehicle cabin is provided. The compartment has a ledge pivotably held about a pivot axis in a housing half-shell. The ledge is connected to the housing half-shell through a damper for damping a pivoting movement. One end of the camper is attached to a ledge side wall. The other end of a damper is attached to a damper fastening element. The damper fastening element is rotatably attached to the ledge side wall about the pivot axis. A damper mating fastening element corresponding to the damper fastening element is fixedly attached to a housing half-shell side wall opposing the ledge side wall. With an engagement of the damper fastening element in the damper mating fastening element, a connection, which is fixed in terms of rotation, is made between the damper fastening element and the damper mating fastening element.

  • Patent number: 8733699
Abstract: An overhead luggage compartment for a vehicle cabin is provided. In the compartment, a ledge provided with an electrical component is pivotably held in a housing half-shell about a pivot axis. The pivot axis extends through two axles connecting the ledge to the housing half-shell. For connecting the electrical component to a cable, one of the axles has a through-hole extending in the axial direction, through which the cable is guided for connecting the component.

  • Publication number: 20120223188
Abstract: A fastening device for connecting two overhead storage compartment elements of an aircraft is provided. A passenger service channel (PSC) extends in the overhead storage compartment elements which comprises coupling elements on the sides of the overhead storage compartment elements to be connected, said coupling elements having to be aligned with one another without being subjected to loading. For easy mountability on a first fastening element a connecting plate is arranged in a longitudinally movable manner. In the delivered state of the overhead storage compartment elements, the connecting plate is already connected to the fastening element and pushed beneath the lower face of the overhead storage compartment element, so that it does not protrude thereover and does not interfere when the overhead storage compartment element is handled before attaching to the cabin ceiling.
