  • Publication number: 20150071083
Abstract: Described is a method for adapting a system bandwidth to be used by a user equipment for an uplink communication channel for an uplink communication between the user equipment and a base station within a cell of a cellular network system, wherein the cell is served by the base station, wherein the user equipment is adapted to use a predefined system bandwidth for the uplink communication. The method includes determining an actual block error rate of the uplink communication channel, comparing the actual block error rate with a predefined threshold, and adapting the predefined system bandwidth based on the result of the comparison.

  • Publication number: 20140254715
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for robust precoding vector switching for multiple transmitter antennas are provided. One method includes defining, by a base station, a precoding vector switching (PVS) scheme for transmission of synchronization signals through multiple antennas comprising a plurality of pairs of cross-polarized antenna elements. The PVS scheme includes changing a direction pattern from co-polarized antenna elements for the first and for the second occurrence of the synchronization signals, and rotating a polarization from each of the pairs of cross-polarized antenna elements for the first and for the second occurrence of the synchronization signals.

  • Patent number: 7697602
Abstract: A training sequence is pre-filtered in a radiocommunication system having an emitter in the form of an antenna device with several antenna systems, thereby making it possible to transmit the training sequences through a pre-filter to said antenna systems side for reradiation by the emitter. Estimation enabling to form the properties of radio transmission channels described by spatial correlations is formed. The prefilter is dimensioned according to the correlations, thereby minimizing the error value of an algorithm used for estimation the channel on a reception side.

  • Patent number: 7054663
Abstract: A method forms polar diagrams in a connection between a subscriber and a base station with an antenna arrangement in a radio communications system using multiple access methods. Antenna signals are associated with polar diagrams of the antenna arrangement by a common beam forming network. The common beam forming network is used to form weighted sum signals, which are passed as input signals to a user-specific beam forming unit. A selector which is arranged there takes from the input signals a user-specific subset Kc of signals, to which an eigen polar diagram forming algorithm is applied.

  • Patent number: 6636724
Abstract: In a method for indoor operation of a wireless telecommunication device that comprises at least one base station and at least one mobile part, the momentary reception power is measured in the receiver of the mobile part and the reception power value is communicated to the base station for the control of the transmission power. The ratio of reception power to noise power is determined at predetermined time intervals in the receiver of the mobile part. The respectively obtained ratio value is compared to a rated value and, dependent on the result, one signalling bit per data frame is transmitted from the mobile part to the base station. A calculation of the current or updated transmission power with adaptive incrementation control is then undertaken in the base station.
