  • Patent number: 9868320
Abstract: A wheel bearing arrangement of a vehicle axle is disclosed. The wheel bearing arrangement includes a wheel bearing, which contains at least two rolling element rows, for supporting a wheel hub which can be driven by a drive element. The rolling elements of the wheel bearing are guided in races of a stationary outer ring, the rotating wheel hub, and a separate inner ring which is allocated to the wheel hub. In the assembled state, the wheel hub of the wheel bearing arrangement and the drive element are operatively connected via gearing. The inner ring has a radially stepped inner contour, the inner contour having two diameters which differ from one another, and are received in a complementarily designed receiving area of the wheel hub. The position of the inner ring is fixed on the end face by a rolling riveted collar of the wheel hub.

  • Patent number: 9829250
Abstract: A TSL lance has an outer shell of three substantially concentric lance pipes, at least one further lance pipe concentrically within the shell, and an annular end wall at an outlet end of the lance which joins ends of outermost and innermost lance pipes of the shell at an outlet end of the lance and is spaced from an outlet end of the intermediate lance pipe of the shell. Coolant fluid is able to be circulated through the shell, by flow to and away from the outlet end. The spacing between the end wall and the outlet end of the intermediate pipe provides a constriction to the flow of coolant fluid to increase coolant fluid flow velocity therebetween. The further lance pipe defines a central bore and is spaced from the innermost lance pipe of the shell to define an annular passage, whereby materials passing along the bore and the passage mix adjacent to the outlet end of the lance. The end wall and an adjacent minor part of the length of the shell comprise a replaceable lance tip assembly.

  • Patent number: 9771627
Abstract: A lance (10), for conducting a pyrometallurgical operation by top submerged lancing (TSL) injection, wherein the lance (10) has at least an inner pipe (12) and outer pipe (14) which are substantially concentric. The lower outlet of the inner pipe (12) is set at a level relative to the lower, outlet end of the outer pipe (14) required for pyrometallurgical operation. The lance (10) further includes a shroud (22) through which the outer pipe (14) extends and which is mounted on and extends along an upper portion of the outer pipe (14) to define with the outer pipe (14) a passageway (28) along which gas is able to be supplied for flow towards the outlet end of the outer pipe (14) for discharge exteriorly of the lance (10). The shroud (22) is longitudinally adjustable relative to the outer pipe (14) to enable substantial maintenance of, or variation in, a longitudinal spacing between the outlet ends of the shroud (22) and the outer pipe (14).

  • Patent number: 9676232
Abstract: A wheel hub (1) having a radially extending wheel flange (17) which has fastening holes (3), having a cylindrical projection which extends from the wheel flange (17) axially on the vehicle side and which serves for at least partially receiving a rolling bearing, and having a centering device which is mounted axially on the wheel side. A high rigidity of the wheel hub (1) and/or of the wheel bearing unit is realized with little material usage. One possibility arises by the centering device of a wheel hub being regarded as the product of the compromise between rigidity and possible material removal. In this regard, a particular arrangement of the webs that form the centering device is provided which leads to a particularly advantageous solution, specifically by virtue of the webs (7) being oriented in the same radial direction (A, B) as the fastening holes (3) of the wheel flange (17).

  • Publication number: 20160245340
Abstract: The invention relates to a seal arrangement for a wheel bearing, inserted between a first bearing part and a second bearing part of the wheel bearing, which includes a pre-seal designed as a centrifugal disk and a seal set having sealing lips and a reinforcement. The seal set is attached to the first, torsionally fixed bearing part by a reinforcement which is surrounded at least partially by an elastic sealing material. A radial edge of a centrifugal disk engages with play in an opening that is delimited radially by the sealing material, said centrifugal disk being fixed to the second bearing part via a radial leg and including a catch groove. Together with the seal set, the centrifugal disk forms a seal labyrinth.
