The transaction tax processing system can be called by a calling application. The transaction tax processing system comprises at least one of the following basic service modules: a transaction tax calculation service, a transaction tax logging service, a transaction tax content service, a transaction tax compliance service, a transaction tax filing service, a transaction tax data base for storing selected information which is related to a transaction events. The transaction tax processing system further comprises: a first interface between the transaction tax system and the basic service module or modules and a second interface between the transaction tax system and the calling application. The first interface uses a Web protocol.
