  • Patent number: 9399914
Abstract: The invention relates to a bit holder for a road milling machine or the like, having a base part on which a bit shank and a projection are shaped, the projection comprising a bit receptacle, and the bit receptacle being constituted from a socket-shaped insert made of hard material. With a bit holder of this kind, good rotational behavior of the bit can be assisted and stable bracing thereof can be guaranteed, with little parts outlay, if provision is made that the bit receptacle is embodied as a stepped bore that comprises a first and a second diameter region, the first diameter region having a larger inside diameter than the second diameter region.

  • Publication number: 20160186676
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for adjusting the operation of an internal combustion engine comprising: determining a gradient of an overrun-air line based on an ambient condition and a current operating point; determining a value for a cylinder air mass situated in a cylinder after closure of the gas exchange valves; and using the determined cylinder air mass to adjust one or more operating parameters of the internal combustion engine. The overrun-air line may correspond to an air mass situated in the respective cylinder after closure of the gas exchange valves at predefined operating temperature for the engine, when the engine is operated briefly without fuel metering and combustion. Determining a cylinder air mass may be based at least in part on the current operating point and the current ambient value of the at least one ambient variable.

  • Publication number: 20160059055
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to fall-protection safety connector having alignment indicators located on both a static end and a dynamic end of a deformable energy-absorbing device that when deformed visually presents the alignment indicators as misaligned. In an illustrative embodiment, the fall-protection safety connector may be configured to securely connect to a securement member. In some embodiments, a user may connect to the fall-protection safety connector by attaching a lanyard to an aperture coupled to the dynamic end of the deformable energy-absorbing device. Before using the fall-protection safety connector, the user may visually inspect the alignment of the alignment indicators to ascertain the readiness of the connector. Misaligned alignment indicators may advantageously indicate to the user that the remaining energy-absorbing deformation capability of the connector may be below a predetermined specification.

  • Patent number: 9222354
Abstract: The invention relates to a tool system having a bit holder and a shank bit, the bit holder comprising a bit receptacle that comprises a first and a second diameter region that lead into one another via a transitional segment (taper), a bit shank of the shank bit comprising a first and a second cross-sectional region that lead into one another via a transitional segment. With a tool system of this kind, a wear-optimized design results from the fact that the transitional segments of the shank bit and of the bit holder are arranged spaced away from one another in the direction of the longitudinal center axis of the shank bit, in order to form a resetting space.
