  • Patent number: 8764018
Abstract: A seal arrangement has a mechanical shaft seal with an annular counter member and a slide ring each having sliding surfaces that rest against one another and define sealing gap. The sealing gap has at least one sealing lip correlated therewith. The sealing lip is arranged downstream or upstream of the sealing gap.

  • Publication number: 20080290606
Abstract: A mechanical seal assembly has a housing fixedly secured on the shaft to be sealed. A slide ring is positive-lockingly connected to the housing. A counter ring interacts with the slide ring. The housing is frictionally connected to the shaft on a side of the slide ring facing away from the counter ring. A secondary seal is disposed in a cutout of the slide ring and secured by an axial securing element.

  • Publication number: 20070290450
Abstract: A face seal for cooling medium pumps of motor vehicles has a slide ring and a counter ring, wherein the slide ring and the counter ring are forced seal-tightly against one another by a magnetic force of attraction. The slide ring and the counter ring are magnets or one of the rings is a magnet and the other is made from ferromagnetic material. A secondary seal is provided that secures the slide ring.

  • Patent number: 6896270
Abstract: There is provided a sealing device (10) for a unitised grease-or oil-lubricated package bearing assembly comprising a twin outer race (14) and two inner races (15, 16) arranged next to each other on a shaft (12), with their faces abutting. Typically, oil may be present between the said shaft (12) and the bore surfaces of the bearing inner races (15, 16), for the purpose of lubricating parts of the system adjacent to the bearing, but not the sealed, lubricated bearing itself. The scaling device comprises a substantially annular sealing portion (26) and the provision of a step (29) in the abutting face of one of the inner races such that a substantially rectangular-section groove (30) is created on the outside diameter of the abutting inner races (15, 16).

  • Publication number: 20050073109
Abstract: A radial shaft seal has a sealing ring having a support housing and a shell of elastomer material surrounding at least partially the support housing. The sealing ring has a sealing lip with a sealing edge or sealing surface that rests seal-tightly against a rotary machine part. The sealing lip has a first conical surface at a side facing the medium to be sealed and a second conical surface at a side facing the surrounding atmosphere. The first and second conical surfaces adjoin the sealing lip. Between the machine part and the first conical surface a first contact surface angle is formed; between the rotary machine part and the second conical surface a second contact surface angle is formed. The first contact surface angle is adjusted to be between 0 and 30 degrees and the second contact surface angle is adjusted to be between 30 up to 70 degrees.
