  • Publication number: 20210353862
Abstract: Modular syringe holders receive small-volume product containers for use in injection devices configured for nominally large-volume product containers, and include an adapter and an adapter holder configured for insertion in such injection devices. The adapter includes a hollow-cylindrical, rigid adapter body and a radially deflectable support element for a receiving a syringe shoulder of a pre-filled syringe. During receipt of the pre-filled syringe, the support element undergoes a radial deflection by a needle protection cap of the pre-filled syringe. The adapter holder is configured to receive the adapter, and a holding portion of the adapter holder blocks the support element against radial deflection in a holding position in an engagement with the syringe shoulder. With the adapter and pre-filled syringe received in the adapter holder, a flexible shoulder-support element diverts axial forces of the shoulder of the pre-filled syringe and is secured by the adapter holder against lateral deflection.

  • Publication number: 20210154407
Abstract: An autoinjector for dispensing a liquid product includes a housing; a product container arranged in the housing, particularly, a syringe comprising a displaceable piston; a drive member; a first spring which acts on the drive member and the piston to dispense the product from the container; signal element releasably axially coupled with the drive member so that the signal element is transported in the dispensing direction as said drive member is displaced; and a second spring, which exerts a spring force on the signal element against the dispensing direction and is tensioned as the signal element is transported in the dispensing direction. When the signal element is released or detached from the axial coupling, the second spring causes the signal element to accelerate opposite the dispensing direction and strike against a signal stop and generate an acoustic and/or tactile signal.

  • Publication number: 20200405951
Abstract: An injection device configured for attachment to the skin of a patient includes a housing and a skin adhesive layer attached to an external surface of the housing for attaching the injection device to the skin of a patient. A release liner covering the skin adhesive layer prevents the injection device from attaching to the skin. A film with one end connected to a surface inside of the housing forms a removable sterile barrier and the other end connected to an external surface of the release liner without contacting the skin adhesive layer. The housing, skin adhesive layer and release liner each include a notch defining a passage for the film so that the second end of the film can extend from the interior to the exterior of the housing.

  • Publication number: 20200268979
Abstract: A piston rod unit for a device for administering a medical substance delays a release of a mechanism of the device and includes an outer piston rod with a hollow space and a contact face for interacting with a stopper to discharge the substance, and an inner piston rod mounted in the outer piston rod to form a cavity at the distal end of the outer piston rod. The cavity contains a viscous fluid and a fluid displacement element located at least partially in the cavity that is operably or integrally connected to the inner piston rod. During relative movement between the fluid displacement element and the outer piston rod, fluid displacement causes movement resistance, such that mechanism release is delayed. The outer piston rod includes a distal, first piston rod part, comprising the contact face and the cavity, and a second piston rod part adjoining the first.

  • Publication number: 20200188592
Abstract: An injection device includes: a housing with a product container in which a stopper with a bearing face can be moved to a stopper end position and which, proximally to the stopper end position, has a minimum product container cross section; a drive configured to move the stopper, which includes a plunger rod with a drive face that contacts the bearing face; a plunger rod guide is arranged outside the product container and guides the plunger rod, with a plunger rod guide cross section adapted to a plunger rod cross section. The product container only incompletely guides movement of the plunger rod and the plunger rod cross section is not prevented from moving in a tilting direction by the minimum product container cross section, and a plunger rod centering aid a distal end of the plunger rod limits the movement of the plunger rod in the tilting direction.

  • Publication number: 20200108206
Abstract: An autoinjector comprises a housing, a product container, a displaceable needle protection sleeve, a plunger rod displaceable by a preloaded discharge spring, a dose setting element with at least two different rotational positions relative to the housing, and a dosing sleeve. The dosing sleeve or the plunger rod has a dose selection stop, and the other has at least one dosing stop. By rotating the dose setting element, the dosing sleeve or the plunger rod is rotated relative to the other. Upon displacement of the needle protection sleeve, the spring displaces the plunger rod, whereby, if the dose setting element is in the first rotational position, the dose selection stop and the first dosing stop strikes against each other, and, if the dose setting element is in the second rotational position, one of the dose selection stop and the first dosing stop is or can be moved past the other.
