  • Patent number: 8833729
Abstract: A proportional throttle valve includes a valve piston (2) functioning as a variable orifice and displaceably guided in the longitudinal direction in a valve housing (3) having a fluid inlet (4) and a fluid outlet (5). Since a leading edge (6) of the valve piston (2) is formed by a control piston (7) of a flow regulator (8) for the fluid connection of the fluid inlet (4) and the fluid outlet (5), the flow control valve and the proportional throttle valve are functionally combined in one valve unit.

  • Patent number: 7827876
Abstract: In a method for controlling, and a control device of, an automated non-synchromesh multi-speed motor vehicle transmission, wherein, upon selection of a target gear, a form-fitting connection is to be established between shift elements of the target gear, wherein, however, with a certain rotational speed difference between the shift elements which causes chattering, no engagement takes place during actuation of the shift actuator for the target gear, when, upon monitoring, a certain chattering of the shift elements is detected, and, as a result, the engagement of the target gear is aborted in order to prevent the transmission from being damaged.

  • Patent number: 7691029
Abstract: A method for operation of a drive train having a drive machine and an automatic, unsynchronized gearwheel variable-speed transmission, which can be connected to the drive machine by using an automatic clutch is described. A control device carries out a selection process as a function of vehicle parameters and/or operating variables of the motor vehicle to determine whether a gear change of the unsynchronized gearwheel variable-speed transmission will be carried out with the clutch engaged or disengaged. To ensure reliable operation of the motor vehicle, a gear change is carried out with the clutch disengaged in a time interval after initial starting up of the drive train and/or after starting of the drive machine and/or when a malfunction is identified in a component in the drive train.

  • Patent number: 7496442
Abstract: In a method for operating a drive train having a drive motor and an automated variable speed transmission, in selected situations, such as when there is a change in the gear speed of the variable speed transmission, it is advantageous to calculate the profile of the rotational speed of the drive motor in advance. For this purpose, pre-stored profile parameters (for example in the form of gradient values when changes in rotational speed are requested) are corrected as a function of a requested difference in rotational speed. Alternatively, in addition to a corrected gradient it is possible to calculate a corrected reaction times, and to carry out the calculation in advance by means of these variables. The reaction time is obtained as a time difference between actuation of a significant change in a state variable (for example a rotational speed) of the drive train.

  • Publication number: 20070213173
Abstract: The invention is based on a device for activating a gear shift element (10) of a motor vehicle by means of a control pressure (p) which is provided for deflecting the gear shift element (10) from a resting position. It is proposed that a control unit (11) be provided for measuring, at least in one operating state, a characteristic variable (T) to determine a reaction of the gear shift element (10) to a change in the control pressure (p).

In selected situations, for example when there is a change in the gear speed of the variable speed transmission, it is advantageous to calculate the profile of the rotational speed of the drive machine in advance. For this purpose, pre-stored profile parameters, for example in the form of gradient values when changes in rotational speed are requested, are corrected. In order to permit a particularly accurate calculation in advance, the corrected gradient is determined as a function of a requested difference in rotational speed. Alternatively, in addition to a corrected gradient it is possible to calculate a corrected reaction time and to carry out the calculation in advance by means of these variables. The reaction time is obtained as a time difference between actuation of a significant change in a state variable, for example a rotational speed, of the drive train.
