Abstract: A system and a method for graphical interconnection of hardware signals of a device, (e.g., a controller device) are provided. The graphical interconnection can now be implemented in a simple manner so that a user can perform this function intuitively and without knowledge of the address convention used in the engineering system. This may be achieved by the inventive system and by the inventive method by the hardware signals being interconnected graphically with program elements of a programming environment using drag & drop features in a graphical user interface.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method, a computer program product and a device for providing user information relating to a screen object selected by a user with a pointer tool within a graphical user interface. In order to provide the most comprehensive assistance possible to a user when operating the pointer tool, the following method steps are proposed: detecting the selected screen object, continuously registering the position of the selected screen object within the graphical user interface while the screen object is being moved by the user by means of the pointer tool, displaying a window which follows the position of the selected screen object and contains text-based information which is dependent on the position of the selected screen object.

Abstract: Method and system for exchanging description data between projects The invention relates to a system and a method for exchanging application-oriented description data between projects, in particular between engineering projects in the field of automation. It makes it possible to exchange description data, in particular application-oriented engineering data, between sub-projects in an efficient and reliable manner. The storage and subsequent exchange of relevant description data relating to objects, such that all the information required for communication between sub-projects is available, are ensured by means of the system and the method. The description data is stored on a shared basis in so-called inter-projcet interfaces( IPI).

Abstract: A system and a method for processing of projects, especially engineering projects, in the automation environment, with the aid of which parts of project can be split off and processed independently of each other, with a seamless integration into the main project subsequently being undertaken without further adaptation effort is provided. In this way it is possible in the environment of larger projects to work in parallel on different subprojects and the subprojects can be further developed independently of each other.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system and a method for providing specifications for a project, in particular for an engineering project for creating an automation solution. The system comprises first means for creating a file containing the specifications and at least one project planning environment for creating a solution on the basis of the specifications, with the file containing the specifications being imported into the at least one project planning environment as meta knowledge. A simple provision of specifications to be used for a project is hereby enabled.

Abstract: A data processor is adapted, in particular with respect to the microcode, in such a way that the execution of standard commands of the processor which are loaded in a user memory area and request reading or writing access to the content of memory cells is inhibited. In the operating system memory area there is a memory area access table, in which there is stored the address area authorized per user memory area for the commands there. Finally, there is an additional program routine which is called up by a command loaded in a user memory area and requesting reading or writing access to a memory cell, and checks by means of the memory area access table (before execution) whether the requested access to a memory cell lies in the authorized address area. If it does not lie in the authorized address area, the additional program routine inhibits the execution of the command.
