Patent number: 8027887Abstract: In one example, a data processing method is provided for the time-optimized calculation of a large number of result data sets at the end of a period. The calculation can be based on data. A time span can be determined for which the underlying data are to be taken into consideration. For each result data set, the probability that the data underlying the calculation of the respective result data set are changed between the calculation of the result data set and the end of the period can be detected. Result data sets within the time span can be calculated. Those result data sets of which the data underlying the calculation have a minor probability of being changed can be calculated prior to those result data sets of which the data underlying the calculation have a higher probability of being changed. The data sets can be stored.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2005Date of Patent: September 27, 2011Assignee: UBS AGInventors: Hansbeat Loacker, Markus Wietlisbach

Patent number: 7945910Abstract: To detect files which are generated unnecessarily or no longer required, and for reliable file versioning, in a batch-processing-oriented environment, a dynamic batch processing system is proposed. The system includes a batch processing control component to process batch processing control instructions, which include the call of at least one program, and a database with files, each of which has a physical file name. The system also includes a component to provide program-related file definition information, which defines the files which are required for a program run by abstract selection criteria. In a file register, the physical file names of the files which are created for the program runs are registered in the form of register entries, which associate at least one selection attribute with each physical file name. A service component which communicates with the control component has access to the file register and the file definition component.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2005Date of Patent: May 17, 2011Assignee: UBS AGInventors: Markus Wietlisbach, Hansbeat Loacker

Patent number: 7831636Abstract: A method for configuring a transaction-based host environment for migration to a new system platform is described. The method comprises the steps of providing at least one database of a first type and at least one database of a second type, which have different migration behaviour, on the previous system platform. Further provided is a first type of transaction which accesses both the first type of database and the second type of database on the previous system platform. For preparing the migration, the first type of transaction is replaced in the host environment by a second type of transaction and a third type of transaction, wherein the second type of transaction accesses only the first type of database and the third type of transaction only the second type of database. The method additionally comprises initiating transactions of the second and third type on request for a transaction of the first type from a decentralised environment.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2005Date of Patent: November 9, 2010Assignee: UBS AGInventors: Markus Wietlisbach, Hansbeat Loacker

Patent number: 7818750Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling data-processing software modules (4, 5, 6, 7), wherein the data to be processed are organized in files, and wherein the processing is performed in a plurality of successive processing sections and the files in one processing section are processed by at least one software module (4, 5, 6, 7). To prevent the propagation and spreading of deviations occurring during the processing in the software modules (4, 5, 6, 7) in subsequent processing sections, information about the data processed are collected in the software modules (4, 5, 6, 7) of the processing sections and are signalized to a control system (8), said control system (8) comparing the information signalized and stopping the processing in a subsequent processing section if the comparison of the information revealed that a predetermined, admissible maximum deviation has been exceeded.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 2005Date of Patent: October 19, 2010Assignee: USB AGInventors: Peter Dunki, Hansbeat Loacker, Markus Wietlisbach

Publication number: 20060174219Abstract: The invention relates to a control system (8) for controlling data-processing software modules (4, 5, 6, 7), wherein the data to be processed are organized in files of data sets, and wherein the processing is performed in a plurality of successive processing sections and the files in one processing section are each processed by at least one software module (4, 5, 6, 7), characterized in that said control system (8) compares information that has been collected about the data processed and that has been signalized by the software modules (4, 5, 6, 7) of the various processing sections with one another or with plan values, and generates an acoustic and/or optical alarm message for an operating person if the exceeding of a predetermined admissible maximum deviation has been detected by said control system (8).Type: ApplicationFiled: May 5, 2005Publication date: August 3, 2006Inventors: Peter Dunki, Hansbeat Loacker, Markus Wietlisbach
