  • Patent number: 10449966
Abstract: A method for reducing nitrogen oxide emissions of a diesel vehicle. In this context, first state variables of the diesel vehicle are measured with the aid of sensors of the diesel vehicle, and using an arithmetic unit, it is ascertained, as a function of the first state variables, if the nitrogen oxide emissions are exceeding a predetermined threshold, or using the arithmetic unit, it is predicted, as a function of the first state variables, if the nitrogen oxide emissions will exceed the predetermined threshold. If exceedance of the threshold is calculated or predicted, then an intervention in the current torque demand of the diesel vehicle and/or an intervention in the current transmission ratio or setting of a transmission of the diesel vehicle is ascertained by the arithmetic unit; the intervention contributing to a reduction in the nitrogen oxide emissions to a value below the threshold.

  • Publication number: 20160265413
Abstract: A method for monitoring a particulate filter in the exhaust duct of an internal combustion engine operated with gasoline, as a device for implementing the method are described. A first exhaust-gas temperature is determined upstream of the particulate filter and a second exhaust-gas temperature is determined downstream from the particulate filter, and a presence and/or a correct functioning of the particulate filter is inferred from a difference between the first and the second exhaust-gas temperature or from a differing time characteristic curve of the first and the second exhaust-gas temperature.

  • Publication number: 20150122000
Abstract: A method for detecting an error in the opening behavior of an injector of an internal combustion engine, the injector having an electromagnetically actuated valve element, a ballistic partial injection being carried out, the injector being ballistically activated, so that the valve element is not opened up to a lift stop, a ballistic closing delay period is determined, the determined ballistic closing delay period is compared with a reference value, and an error in the opening behavior of the injector is detected with the aid of the comparison.
