  • Patent number: 11912254
Abstract: A method for automatically emergency stopping a motor vehicle from a starting speed to a standstill by a braking device of the motor vehicle is provided. The braking device is actuated to carry out a delay profile with at least two delay phases. During a delay increase phase the delay until a threshold delay is increased and during a delay decrease phase, lasting until standstill, the delay is reduced to zero. The temporal courses of the delay are determined during the delay increase and the delay decrease at least sectionally as nth degree polynomials, where n>0, depending on the starting speed, in such a way that a stopping duration, which represents a time duration necessary for emergency stopping, does not fall below a predetermined minimum stopping duration and a distance covered during the stopping duration does not exceed a predetermined maximum stopping distance.

  • Publication number: 20240042864
Abstract: A monitoring apparatus of an onboard electrical system of an at least partially electrically operated motor vehicle. A switchgear is configured to switch a high-voltage positive path and a high-voltage negative path of an electrical energy storage device of the onboard electrical system. The switchgear has a control line which is coupled to a pyrotechnic safety device. In an event of an interruption of the control line, the switchgear opens the high-voltage positive path and the high-voltage negative path. A control line switchgear is series-coupled in the control line to the pyrotechnic safety device. The control line switchgear interrupts the control line as a function of a control signal of an electronic computing device. The electronic computing device is configured to check a voltage potential in the control line using the control line switchgear before the electrical energy storage device is connected to the onboard electrical system.

  • Publication number: 20240036078
Abstract: For an electrical unbalanced load of a vehicle having an at least partially electrified drive train with at least one high-voltage system, information about a value characterizing an energy quantity of a Y capacitor of the high-voltage system is determined. The information about the electrical unbalanced load is finally determined by comparing the determined characterizing value with a threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20240027509
Abstract: A method for determining a current capacitance value of a Y capacitance of an electrical wiring system for an electrically operated motor vehicle by an electronic computing device where a high-voltage energy store of the electrical wiring system is electrically coupled with an energy store-external part by a switching device. In an energy store-internal part of the electrical wiring system, determining a first insulation resistance on a basis of a capacitance value of the electrical wiring system by a first insulation monitor. Determining a second insulation resistance of the electrical wiring system by a second insulation monitor of the energy store-external part. Comparing the first insulation resistance with the second insulation resistance by the electronic computing device. On a basis of the comparing, adjusting the capacitance value for determining the first insulation resistance by the first insulation monitor such that the first insulation resistance matches the second insulation resistance.

  • Publication number: 20230001924
Abstract: A method for operating a vehicle includes carrying out a lane-keeping control of the vehicle along a course of a lane travelled in by the vehicle. When lane markings are detected, the course of the lane is determined on a basis of detected lane markings. When lane markings are not detected, the course of the lane is determined in a mapped-based manner on a basis of data from a digital map where a rough localization of the vehicle in the digital map and a fine localization of the vehicle in the digital map is performed.

  • Publication number: 20220297541
Abstract: A method for operating a vehicle includes continuously checking during a driving operation whether an emergency situation is present in the vehicle and, when an emergency situation is detected, initiating an emergency stopping maneuver for safely parking the vehicle, signalling the emergency situation to a road user in a surroundings of the vehicle, and aborting the emergency stopping maneuver when a vehicle user takes over a task of driving the vehicle. The method further includes automatically deactivating the signalling of the emergency situation when an ascertained duration of time between the initiating and the aborting of the emergency stopping maneuver is smaller than a predeterminable time value and/or when an ascertained reduction of a driving speed of the vehicle between the initiating and the aborting of the emergency stopping maneuver is smaller than a predeterminable speed reduction value.

  • Patent number: 8857904
Abstract: A head-rest of a vehicle seat with a deformable central supporting body which forms an impact zone for the head of a vehicle occupant and into which the kinetic energy of the head in the event of an accident is admitted. On both sides of the impact zone the central supporting bodies are joined by lateral supporting surfaces which are extendable out of the plane of the head-rest in the direction of travel in order to laterally support the head. In order to avoid or at least to reduce the risk of a cervical-spine whiplash injury, it is proposed according to the invention that the head-rest comprises a device for absorbing the energy admitted into the central supporting body and for outputting the absorbed energy in order to activate lateral supporting surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6043567
Abstract: A new vehicle electrical system has a first lower voltage level and a second higher voltage level. The new vehicle electrical system comprises an ignition switch, a generator having an exciter circuit and a voltage controller, and a multi-chopper having several chopper stages. The voltage controller supplies energy to the exciter circuit via the ignition switch in order to adjust the first lower voltage level to a rated level of U1. The multi-chopper is connected between the battery and the generator, thereby adjusting the second higher voltage level to a rated level of U2 based on the number of chopper stages and their actuation.
