  • Patent number: 11572009
Abstract: A covering device for arrangement on at least one outer or one inner region of a motor vehicle includes at least one form element which is produced and/or can be produced by means of injection moulding and has an inner side oriented towards the motor vehicle and an outer side oriented away from the motor vehicle, one or more lighting devices for emitting light. The covering device also includes at least one covering element which, for covering the form element at least in regions, is arranged at least in regions on the outer side of the form element, at least part of the light emitted by the lighting device being able to pass through the form element and/or the covering element.

  • Patent number: 10562449
Abstract: Method and apparatus are disclosed for accelerometer-based external sound monitoring during low speed maneuvers. An example vehicle includes accelerometers affixed to windows of the vehicle, speakers located inside the vehicle, and an infotainment head unit. Each of the speakers is uniquely associated with one of the accelerometers. The infotainment head unit, when a speed of the vehicle satisfies a threshold, selects a zone corresponding to a direction of travel of the vehicle. Additionally, the infotainment head unit plays signals captured by the accelerometers associated with the selected zone on the corresponding speakers.

  • Publication number: 20190113377
Abstract: Method and apparatus are disclosed for fuel fill volume estimation for a vehicle. An example vehicle includes a fuel tank float, a dashboard display, and an engine control module. The engine control module divides a fuel tank into zones. When the vehicle is not in motion and a position of the fuel tank float changes by a threshold amount, engine control module measures an initial fuel level. When the position of the fuel tank float does not change for a threshold period of time, the engine control module measures a final fuel level. Additionally, the engine control module calculates an amount of fuel added to the fuel tank based on the zones associated with the initial fuel level and a final fuel level and display the amount on the dashboard display.
