  • Patent number: 8518078
Abstract: A surgical suture material and a method to the use thereof are represented by different needles and surgical threads. The main embodiments comprises a needle (6), consisting of two needles (7, 8) jointed by a temporary connection having a tetrahedral, diamond or another shape in such a way that a single needle point (9) is formed, and a surgical thread (10) provided with shaped design projections embodied on the thread surface in the form of notches. The method consists in introducing, during a surgical intervention, the twin needle in one puncture at a small depth, wherein the needle is divided into two needles, and in leading each needle along a required contour. The surgical suture material can be extensively used for surgical and cosmetic interventions.

The shaped design of the notches has a very important significance since it makes it possible to provide a reliable linkage with soft tissues and to forcedly holding the soft tissues when force actions are applied thereto. The method consists in introducing, during a surgical intervention, the twin needle in one puncture at a small depth, wherein the needle is divided into two needles, and in leading each needle along a required contour. The surgical suture material can be extensively used for surgical and cosmetic interventions.

  • Patent number: 7513904
Abstract: A surgical thread is made of a metal, polymer or biological material embodied in the form of a spiral whose diameter ranges from 0.5 to 5 mm. The thread has a diameter ranging from 0.1 to 1 mm and exhibits the properties of a compression or extension spring obtainable by heat treatment. Also a method is disclosed which is characterized in that it consists in introducing the spiral-shaped thread into subcutaneous soft tissues in order to tighten and fix said tissues by means of a puncture needle in bore of which a thread-spiral exhibiting the properties of a compression or extension spring is fixed from outside or from inside. When the needle is extracted the thread-spiral remains under skin preserving the compression or extension properties thereof, thereby producing a skin compression or extension effect.

  • Publication number: 20080262542
Abstract: A surgical thread for cosmetic surgery is provided with serially arranged inclined-notched protrusions (2) in the form of conical barbs (3) having flexible and elastic sharpened ends (4b). The barbs are arranged on one or several sides along the section of the thread (for example in an offset manner) and with a sequential alternation of barb inclinations. The thread is not fixed to a surgical needle and is introduced into soft tissues through the hole of an injection needle. The notched protrusions preserve the rupture strength of the thread and meet requirements of the functional use thereof, thereby making it possible to carry out a cosmetic surgery.
