  • Patent number: 5894509
Abstract: Information on the usage of memory mapped equipment in a telephone switching office can be continuously and non-invasively obtained by monitoring activity on the address, data, and control lines of the computer controlling such equipment. By counting the number of times a circuit is accessed by a computer, as determined by the detection of address, data, and control values for the circuit, equipment usage can be objectively determined. Further, a display device can be attached to an input/output port of a telephone office equipment monitor to provide a graphical representation of data obtained using the display device.

  • Patent number: 5287103
Abstract: An arrangement providing an internetwork identification in response to a broadcast message from a LAN client wherein the broadcast message comprises the LAN client's LAN address. The exemplary apparatus comprises a receiver for receiving a message from the LAN and a translator coupled to the receiver for providing a translation of the LAN address to an internetwork identification responsive to determining that the received message is a broadcast message request for internetwork identification. The translator comprises a first device for determining that the received message comprises a broadcast message request for an internetwork identification and a second device coupled to the first device and responsive thereto for receiving the LAN address and providing the internetwork identification. The second device may comprise a disk system or other writable, nonvolatile electronic device.

  • Patent number: 4564110
Abstract: Capacitor blanks (10) are gravity advanced down an inclined chute (22) into engagement with a flipper vane (36) whereat one (18) of a pair of oppositely disposed test probes (18) and (19) is advanced to engage and push the capacitor blank into engagement with the other probe. If the capacitor blank is not engaged by the test probes so that a predetermined minimum capacitance reading is attained by a test set (29), the test probe (18) is withdrawn and a signal generated to control the operation of the flipper vane (36) which functions to thrust the capacitor back up the chute. Upon proper positioning of the capacitor and completion of a test, the flipper vane is again operated in such a fashion that the tested capacitor passes to a sorting device (61, 64, and 65) which directs the capacitor blank into either an accept recepticle (62) or reject recepticle (63).

  • Patent number: 4429271
Abstract: A high speed capacitance test set (10 or 60), comprised of a digital test circuit portion (11 or 11') and a multi-pulse train generating portion (12 or 12'), is adapted to make exceedingly rapid, repetitive capacitance measurements, such as required when winding roll-type capacitors to a precisely ascertained final value of capacitance, determined on-the-fly.
