  • Publication number: 20080028669
Abstract: An insect removal system is provided which includes a chemical insect debilitating agent spray formulation and an insect removal adhesive tape for removing small insects and/or arachnids from a surface. The insect debilitating formulation is composed of an active ingredient that is not harmful to humans or animals so that the formulation can be sprayed on skin or fur surfaces, as well as a plethora of other surfaces. Upon debilitation or killing of the insect, a desired length of the adhesive tape is applied to the insect and surrounding surface so that the insect is covered and adheres to the tape. The tape, with the insect adhered thereto, is then removed from the surface, and is disposed of. Direct contact with the insect during the debilitating and removal processes is avoided.

  • Publication number: 20070249981
Abstract: A bandage remains securely attached to the skin of a wearer during extended exposure to arid, humid or wet conditions. The bandage is readily removed from the attached condition upon application of pressure to its exterior surface. Adhesive portions of the contain pockets or microcapsules filled with an adhesive-inactivating ingredient. The pockets are formed in the backing layer. Microcapsules, if present, are incorporated in the adhesive. The adhesive inactivating ingredient comprises oil from vegetable source, mineral source or fatty acids. The wearer ruptures the pockets or microcapsules by applying pressure to the bandage above the adhesive portions. The adhesive-inactivating ingredient is thereby released at the skin-adhesive interface, permitting an easy, pain-free removal of the bandage.

  • Publication number: 20070181071
Abstract: A breakable odor control additive provides release of fragrance or odor masking scent when present in a litter formulation that is used by a cat or other animal within a litter box. The odor control additive comprises a plurality of fragrant-scented balls. Each of the balls has a central, compressible, porous, open-celled substrate, which is saturated with a fragrant scent. This central, fragrance-saturated substrate is coated with a barrier coating comprising soda ash, which prevents evaporation of the fragrance and protects the substrate against deterioration by urine and other contaminants deposited on the litter when cat or animal enters the litter box, a load is applied to the fragrant-scented balls. The barrier coating breaks, exposing the fragrant coated substrate, while the soda ash neutralizes urine acid and retards odor development fragrance evaporating from the substrate provides odor control and a pleasant scent.

  • Publication number: 20060062700
Abstract: A low cost, easy to manufacture scent-dispersing mat apparatus has a flexible closed cell foam mat containing a plurality of blind holes extending from its upper surface. These blind holes are partially filled with a fragrant liquid scent, creating air spaces thereabove. The upper surface of the flexible closed cell foam mat is sealed with a polymeric sheet that entraps the air spaces in the blind holes, causing entrapped air to become saturated with fragrant scent vapor. The polymeric sheet is perforated by one or more fine needles at the blind hole locations. The perforations permit escape of fragrant scent-saturated air to the ambient when pressure is applied to the top surface of the mat. Upon release of pressure, the foam mat and the blind holes recover their shape; the entrapped air pressure decreases, drawing fresh ambient air into the entrapped air spaces.
