Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to peristaltic pump systems, and methods of using peristaltic pump systems to grow algae. In some implementations, a peristaltic pump system includes a frame supporting a plurality of rollers powered by a motor, and the rollers can be actuated to pump a fluid containing algae through an elongate, looped tube. In some implementations, such a system includes a ball trap assembly that can allow balls to be inserted into and to be removed from the tube, and that can synchronize the passage of balls through the tube with movement of the rollers. In some implementations, such a system includes a harvesting system that can be used to harvest algae from the system.
