  • Patent number: 7296675
Abstract: A centering roller which is used with reinforced conveyor belts has permanent magnets within its outer shell to attract the steel cables used to reinforce the lateral portions of the belt. Preferably, the permanent magnets are of the rare earth variety to provide increased magnetic attraction and ensure centering of the belt.

  • Patent number: 6149014
Abstract: A top feed, wet drum magnetic separator capable of treating, removing tramp metal from the full flow discharge of a grinding mill having a feed box which provides overflow capacity, velocity break to minimize turbulence, and spread the slurry evenly across the drum surface. A flow transition is provided to the rotating drum surface. A fixed magnet assembly is supported inside the drum. Barrier walls contain the flow and a cover confines the flow over the drum. A partitioned product hopper collects metallic fragments separately from the bulk slurry flow. A spray bar is provided to clean the drum.

  • Patent number: 5975310
Abstract: The arcuate magnet is made up of a series of magnets that produce a radial shape magnetic field. The arcuate magnet is supported adjacent the outer periphery of the cylindrical blind trommel. The blind trommel is rotated. Steel balls and magnetic material are held to the inner periphery of the blind trommel and carried with it to the end of the arcuate magnet. The arcuate magnet may be made up of either electromagnets or permanent magnets. Another embodiment has one or more magnets attached to spaced positions around the outer periphery of the trommel. Permanent or electromagnets may be employed. Electromagnets are connected to slip rings that energize the magnets from about the 6 o'clock position and de-energize the magnets at about the 11 o'clock position. The permanent magnets are moved away from the blind trommel at about the 11:00 o'clock position. The magnetic material is released from the blind trommel at about the 11:00 o'clock position and collected in a tray inside the blind trommel.

  • Patent number: 5821657
Abstract: A vibratory feeder for feeding low density powered material having a tray, a base and a motor supporting the tray on the base. The motor includes an electromagnet having an AC coil supported on an intermediate leg between the outer legs and an armature having a permanent magnet and two pole plates. The pole plates being disposed in the spaces between the outer legs and the intermediate leg. A rare earth magnet is supported between the pole plates. Spaces between the electromagnet legs and the pole plates providing for a stroke of about 0.2 inch at a frequency of 30 Hertz and a tuning spring connecting the motor to the tray. The tuning spring being adjustable to change the deflection of the tray relative to the motor.

  • Patent number: 5668518
Abstract: A wire wound drum using a magnetic element having a non-magnetic shell and a matrix material bonded to the shell and made up of a non-magnetic wire and a magnetic wire wound on the shell in bobbin fashion single layer alternate magnetic and non-magnetic wires having the outer diameter of the wire machined down to the center line of the wire wrap to produce a flat surface.

  • Patent number: 4409007
Abstract: A Precipitator Rapper is disclosed having a non-magnetic tube adjustably attached to a solenoid and a hammer extending through the solenoid and through the tube. The solenoid is adjustable toward and away from the precipitator and the tube has a removal cap on the end remote from the precipitator that can be removed so that an accurate measurement can be made from the hammer to the outer end of the tube. This enables a person to accurately adjust the hammer relative to the tube.
