  • Patent number: 5904863
Abstract: A process for etching the sides of a trace remove the feet which extend laterally out from the sides and over a circuit board substrate adjacent the trace.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 30, 1997
Date of Patent: May 18, 1999
    Assignee: Coates ASI, Inc.
Inventors: Michael M. Hatfield, Marshall I. Gurian
  • Patent number: 5232501
Abstract: Apparatus for contacting a circuit board substrate with etching fluid or some other chemical includes a conveyor system comprised of upper and lower rotating disks for receiving and transporting the circuit board substrate while the substrate is contacted with fluid. The apparatus utilizes a modular drive system to drive the disks. The drive system is not exposed to the chemicals used to contact and process the circuit board substrate. The rotating disks can be removed from the apparatus without requiring disassembly of the modular drive system.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 21, 1992
Date of Patent: August 3, 1993
    Assignee: Advanced Systems Incorporated
Inventors: Don P. Pender, Marshall I. Gurian
  • Patent number: 5178759
Abstract: A method for removing a liquid stripper composition from a slurry comprised of the liquid stripper composition and of photoresist film particles which were removed from a circuit board substrate by using the liquid stripper composition. The slurry flows over the inner surface of the porous wall of a drum under gravity to form a generally uniform layer on the inner surface of the drum. Liquid escapes from the slurry through the porous wall of the drum.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 23, 1990
Date of Patent: January 12, 1993
Inventors: Marshall I. Gurian, James R. Carter
  • Patent number: 4620894
Abstract: Method and apparatus for chemically treating vertically oriented electronic printed circuit board substrates. The apparatus includes a conveyor system for transporting vertically oriented circuit board substrates through a plurality of adjacent spray chambers. The conveyor system minimizes the amount of chemical solution which is carried from one chamber into an adjoining chamber and permits the utilization of hollow slack tubing to engage and transport the substrates.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 11, 1985
Date of Patent: November 4, 1986
    Assignee: Advanced Systems Incorporated
Inventors: Marshall I. Gurian, Don P. Pender
  • Patent number: 4269716
Abstract: An improved ion exchange separation method in which the volume of spent wash liquid and treated feed liquid is reduced by withdrawing a slurry of regenerated resin and wash water from the regeneration column and introducing the slurry into the bottom of the main treating column. The wash liquid is withdrawn from the main treating column along with the de-ionized feed liquid.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 28, 1980
Date of Patent: May 26, 1981
    Assignee: Advanced Systems, Inc.
