  • Publication number: 20240068005
Abstract: The present invention provides engineered ketoreductase and phosphite dehydrogenase enzymes having improved properties as compared to a naturally occurring wild-type ketoreductase and phosphite dehydrogenase enzymes, as well as polynucleotides encoding the engineered ketoreductase and phosphite dehydrogenase enzymes, host cells capable of expressing the engineered ketoreductase and phosphite dehydrogenase enzymes, and methods of using the engineered ketoreductase and phosphite dehydrogenase enzymes to synthesize a chiral catalyst used in the synthesis of antiviral compounds, such as nucleoside inhibitors. The present invention further provides methods of using the engineered enzymes to deracemize a chiral alcohol in a one-pot, multi-enzyme system.

  • Publication number: 20100010472
Abstract: There is provided a syringe assembly comprising a first, self contained cylindrical storage means (211) containing a first substance (212) and a second, self contained, cylindrical storage means (213) containing a second substance (214). The second storage means is slidably received by the first storage means and is adapted to pierce a slidable sealing element of the first storage means for mixing of the first and second substances in the first storage means. Axially driving the sealing element of the first storage means effects ejection of the resulting mixed substance from the syringe for delivery to a patient. There is also disclosed a syringe assembly with a safety sheath for covering a needle of the syringe when in an extended position and which is slidable from the extended position to a retracted position to expose the needle for use.

  • Publication number: 20080309457
Abstract: A remote control transmitter configured to operate with a vehicle controller. The transmitter is operable in an active mode and a passive mode and/or in the alternative embodiment the transmitter is operable as a one-way or a two-way transmitter. The transmitter is configured to switch from one mode, such as the passive or two-way mode, to the other mode, such as active or one-way mode, in response to at least one of a user activated signal or a battery threshold signal.

  • Patent number: 7327231
Abstract: The disclosed device is an additional, normally-closed relay positioned in line with the ignition switch and the functionality controlled by the OEM, normally-open relay. When the aftermarket system is in the disarmed state, the normally-closed relay is dormant in its closed position, thereby allowing the circuit to complete its intended loop. When the aftermarket security system is enabled, the normally-closed relay will open the current flow and prevent the current from reaching its target, thereby disrupting or disabling the operation of the vehicle function. If the normally-closed relay fails, it fails in its closed position, thereby not affecting the OEM system.

  • Patent number: 7310914
Abstract: A truss bracket for connecting a roof to a shipping container includes an initially flat rectangular sheet of material in which is formed a longitudinally extending fold line that divides the sheet of material into a first part and a second part that are disposed at a predetermined angle relative to one another when a fold is formed in the fold line. The first part is adapted to be secured to a vertical wall of a shipping container and the second part is adapted to be engaged to a roof. A plurality of flanges are stamped from the second part and are folded out at a ninety degree angle relative to the plane of the second part to enable connection of the second part to the roof. A house is made by joining plural shipping containers together and securing a roof to the shipping container by using the truss bracket.

  • Publication number: 20060197650
Abstract: A remote control transmitter configured to operate with a vehicle controller. The transmitter is operable in an active mode and a passive mode. In the active mode the disarm/unlock command is sent by user activating a switch. In the passive mode the disarm/unlock command is automatically sent by the transmitter without the user having to activate any switches on the transmitter. The transmitter is configured to switch from the passive mode to the active mode in response to at least one of a user activated signal or a battery threshold signal.

  • Publication number: 20060142446
Abstract: Stabilized flame retardant polymer compositions containing a hydrated metal compound, e.g., a metal hydroxide, as a flame retardant, when added an effective stabilizing amount of an amine oxide, a hydroxyl amine or mixtures thereof, exhibit desirable physical characteristics of pure polymers due to the stabilizer additives, including excellent color stability, while attaining desirable fire-retardance standards.
