  • Patent number: 6660216
Abstract: Processes and apparatus for blow molding include a mold surfaces having micrograined patterns to improve venting and surface finish. The micrograined patterns are preferably in the form of projections that define between them a network of interconnected channels. The projections are of a sufficient height that they engage the outer surface of a fully-expanded parison and form venting passages with the parison surface to permit trapped air to escape and migrate through vent holes which communicate with the channels. The dimensions and shape of the projections are selected to provide for the formation of venting passages while preventing the formation of patterns in the surface of the molded product.

  • Patent number: 5456235
Abstract: An engine fuel supply system includes a fuel pumping unit located outside the fuel tank for pumping fuel from the tank to the engine. The pumping unit includes a motor operated fuel pump positioned in a reservoir that is partitioned to form a lower chamber and an upper chamber. The pump inlet is connected to the lower chamber for pumping fuel into a pressure line leading to the engine. Excess fuel not used by the engine cylinder injectors is returned to the upper chamber for eventual flow into the lower chamber and recycling through the pump. The upper chamber provides the pump with an emergency supply of fuel that can be called upon when the fuel tank is in an empty condition. The upper chamber also acts as a cooling device for cooling heated excess fuel returned from the engine to the pumping unit.

  • Patent number: 4923432
Abstract: A flexible molded type boot for use to retain lubricant in a constant velocity joint in which the boot is formed with a series of axially related convolutions which extend from a joint housing having a large diameter through a series of progressively smaller diameters to a smallest diameter driving shaft. The convolutions are formed with expernal peaks spaced apart by inwardly recessed valleys constituted by pairs of angularly convergent walls forming valleys between the convolution peaks. The walls taper from thinnest adjacent the external ridges to thickest adjacent the valleys where the convergent walls are joined.
