Abstract: A coin bank with an automated means for depositing groups of coins is provided. In one embodiment, the invention relates to a coin bank for storing money, including a vessel configured to store at least one coin, where the vessel includes an opening, a means for receiving the at least one coin in a first position, the receiving means having a first hinge at a first end and a second hinge at a second end, and an actuating means for moving the receiving means from the first position to a second position, the actuating means in contact with the receiving means and the vessel, wherein the opening is configured to receive the at least one coin in the second position.
