Abstract: A smart card system for providing travel-and entertainment-related resources and associated methods is provided. The smart card system includes a smart card payment processing facility for communicating with the smart card for automated payments of fares and/or fees and/or tolls. The smart card comprises a contactless and a contact interface for collecting payments for travel-and entertainment-related functions. The smart card system may be used to pay other types of travel and entertainment charges, such as airline fares, bus fares, entertainment park entrance fees and parking fees. The card may further include tools for purchasing travel-and entertainment-related products.
