  • Patent number: 8884966
Abstract: A scatter plot that represents plural periodic time intervals is animated as new data points are received, where the animating includes performing real-time backward rewriting. The real-time backward rewriting includes overlaying a subset of previously written data points with the new data points, and painting a remainder of previously written data points outside the subset in the scatter plot, where painting the remainder of previously written data points is performed without shifting pixels corresponding to the remainder. A divider structure is drawn in the scatter plot to indicate a position in the scatter plot between a current time point and a previous time point.

  • Patent number: 8836536
Abstract: In an embodiment, a device characterization system includes a sensor to sense an attribute of a device, a processor, and an algorithm executable on the processor to collect time series data of the attribute from the sensor, detect edges in the data, identify clusters from the edges, label the clusters based on input from a supervisor, and estimate device characterization parameters from the clusters.

  • Publication number: 20130246109
Abstract: A system and article are disclosed for annotating resource variation. In one example, the system discloses an installation 102, having a device 128 associated with a user 118, and a resource manager 107, 120 programmed with executable instructions, which detect a resource 104 variation 308 associated with the device 128, and label the resource variation with a user annotation 316 generated by the user. In another example, the system discloses a network resource manager service 107 programmed with executable instructions, which interface with an installation 102, having a set of sensors 126 and a set of devices 128 associated with a user 118, receive data from at least one of the sensors which detects a resource 104 variation 308 associated with at least one of the devices; and label the detected resource variation with a user annotation 316.

  • Patent number: 7652575
Abstract: An aspect of the present invention is a method of monitoring a package. The method includes mounting a transponder on the package, the transponder having at least two signal transmission devices and emitting a first output signal configuration on the signal transmission devices when the integrity of the package is intact and emitting a second output signal configuration on the signal transmission devices if the integrity of the package has been compromised.

  • Publication number: 20030009691
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and method which provides a centralized clearinghouse of entitlement information that can preferably be accessed and used by any authorized entitlement provider, whether providing service over the Internet or through a tangible facility. A preferred embodiment preferably includes a database for storing entitlement and access information provided by the entitlement party or enterprise. The system preferably also comprises a centralized, network-accessible facility that allows any type of entitlement service provider or supplier to access for verifying entitlements for customers. The clearinghouse interface is preferably secured to prevent unauthorized access or tampering by any unauthorized entitlement service provider or supplier. Also, a data structure is preferably used to search the database for the entitlement and access information based on data provided by accessing service providers or suppliers.

  • Publication number: 20020103801
Abstract: The invention discloses a system and method for providing a centralized repository for reputation, ratings, and identification data of any participating user. The user earns a reputation or other ratings information by interacting with outside organizations or Internet participation communities. The reputation or other ratings information is then preferably categorized and stored in the inventive clearinghouse database. The user and/or the participation communities may access the clearinghouse after proper verification to upload, update, or download any of the user's reputation information when authorized to do so by the user. The centralized format preferably allows the user to transport any ratings or reputation data from one community to another while preserving the integrity and reliability of the information.
