  • Publication number: 20190050117
Abstract: A user interface for manipulating a data set comprising at least two data points, wherein each data point has at least three variables, the user interface comprising a data display region, a first set of selectable user interface items arranged in a row and representing values of a first variable of the data set, and a second set of selectable user interface items arranged in a column and representing values of a second variable of the data set, wherein the user selectable user interface items of the first and second sets can be used to manipulate representations of the data set presented in the data display region. The user interface is compact, intuitive and straightforward to learn and use, and requires minimal user interactions to configure a plot. Using the user interface, complex data sets having three or more variables can be visualised quickly and easily.

  • Patent number: 7154505
Abstract: A computer implemented method for examining the appearance of a printed object within a virtual environment is provided. A graphic designer or other user defines the shape and substrate of the object and the sequence and spatial extent of surface processing operations that are to be applied to the object. The method models the result of applying each surface processing operation in sequence.

  • Patent number: 5822054
Abstract: Disclosed is a surface inspection lighting apparatus for use in the visual inspection by a human inspector of a reflective surface for surface defects. The apparatus has a region from which light emanates when the apparatus is in use. The intensity of the light emanating from the region varies substantially as an exponential function and as a sinusoidal function of the distance along an imaginary line across the region. The specular reflection of light from the region in a flat, defect free, reflective test surface is perceived by a human inspector to have a substantially sinusoidal intensity distribution.
