  • Patent number: 4551698
Abstract: A polarized electromagnetic relay including a coil body positioned over a core, and having at least one winding thereon. A permanent magnet is positioned in close proximity to the coil body. An armature externally embraces the coil winding and with the permanent magnet forms two working air gaps. Contact elements are provided embedded in a pedestal, the contact elements being disposed below the coil body. A monostable or a bistable switching behavior of the relay can be achieved by varying the design and disposition of the coil body, the windings, and one or more permanent magnets.

  • Patent number: 4053858
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay has an angled yoke affixed to a first end of a magnetizable coil core and extending parallel to said core to an end spaced radially adjacant an opposite end of the core. An armature is pivotally supported upon the free end of the yoke for movement toward and away from said opposite end of the core. The yoke is formed with a recess or slot in its free end which engages a lateral projection from a flange affixed about said opposite end of the core. The projection cooperates with the yoke recess to fix the free end of the yoke in lateral and radial position with respect to the core. The projection and recess align the yoke in position parallel to the core during assembly of the relay, assuring good magnetic contact beween the core and the yoke at the point of attachment. The recess and projection also reinforce the assembly against mechanical displacement of the yoke during service with consequent breaking or impairment of the magnetic circuit connection.

  • Patent number: 4045755
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay having a return pole piece, a substantially L-shaped armature and an elongated mounting spring for clamping the armature to the return pole piece. The corner portion of the armature is supported by an upper edge of the return pole piece, and the ends of the mounting spring engage the armature and the return pole piece for providing a clamping force, the line of which passes in close proximity to the supporting edge of the return pole piece to produce an armature resetting moment.

  • Patent number: 4027131
Abstract: A spring electrical contact assembly having an elongated spring member with a contact adjacent a free end, the member mounted at an inner end in a slot opening in an insulated mounting body. The contact is urged by its spring force against a fixed contact carried by a stiff member mounted in the body. The inner end of the spring is fixed to a rigid spring carrier plate seated in the slot, the plate extending parallel to the elongation of the spring and having an edge at a right angle thereto intermediate the spring ends. The edge functions as a fulcrum point for the spring.
